  1. Hello, all. Couldn't find a thread dedicated to this new sequencer I just found out about, so I figured I'd start one out. It looks amazing. It seems to have everything I ever wanted in a hardware sequencer: midi fx - especially MIDI delay -- you can make some whack shit with MIDI delay and a monosynth long pattern length - Why is it always just 64 steps? How about 64 bars? Yeah that's more like it. individual lengths and time signatures cv and midi - strangely only looks like 1 or two outputs, unfortunately. For something that looks to bill itself as a central hub for MIDI output that seems a little silly use of standard MIDI files - so I can just drop them in the machine from my laptop. No matter what, a laptop will always be best for managing MIDI in the studio. Seems kind of unclear whether it could be a live MIDI looping device via an external controller, though, which would just about make it perfect. Also it's unclear how many "songs" you can have loaded at once and how easy it is to switch between them. Anyone getting one?!
  2. Cuz like, it's up to us, you know? Honestly the numbers could be anything from a patch number on a synth he's got to the auto-save version of that track he's got to some track list order. So, just leave it, eh?
  3. 37 [bicycle wheel] almost sounds like a SAW II rework with updated gear.
  4. I was just about to say. Same theme, anyway. Exactly the same first few intervals. Yeah, the whole thing is practically the same as Avril 14th. Well, with percussion of course. https://soundcloud.com/waffenss/109-organ-14th about? Hahahaha! Nice try, mate. I think Avril 14th must be transposed up a little. I wouldn't expect them to be exact, though. I mean, with my own work I definitely take sketches of things that didn't really turn out and rework them, remix them, steal from them, etc. Sounds like this is what happened here with Organ/Avril14th

  7. Ya'll realize this is like a study in the transformation of general production methods and technology over the years? Also, someone get a musicologist in here. There are papers to be written.
  8. As a musician, don't you hate when an artist just something so amazing and you're like, "Fuck it. I may as well just quit. I have nothing to add." And then you're all, "Wait. This is why I write music in the first place." So much inspiration here.
  9. My 4 year old is getting a kick out of 10 Shit Smothered.
  10. That 3rd Armpit makes me wonder who it is at least. Sounds pretty old, and some are quite good... the others, not so much.
  11. When this is over, who's gonna make a separate thread with a .zip of all the tracks so I don't have to sift through this thread that will inevitably be 500 pages long? Kthx *goes back to catatonic listening* edit: Haven't gotten a damn thing done today. I ain't even mad.
  12. 9th most popular on kickstarter right now. Take a look on the front page.
  13. Are they members of WATMM? Honestly, I don't see the point. Unless you're going to give something extra to the first so many backers or something. Which would be silly. I'd rather see the numbers skyrocket faster. ;)
  14. So um, what's with the start date of tomorrow? Can't we share this on FB and such yet? Edit: backed
  15. Got my JX-3P for 99usd about 10 years ago. Only thing wrong with it was the volume pot had no knob and also the volume pot was also a little flaky (had to be in a certain position for it to actually produce sound). Replaced the volume pot myself for 15usd, a new knob for 3 and never looked back. Nice and clean... I like that.

    Wisp Tracks

He's also playin some shows out my way, in the PNW. From what I can tell he's been busy doing the school thang, but maybe he's almost done...?
  17. Honestly I wasn't going to post anything until I saw a couple JX-3Ps up. And yeah, mine is not actually pictured there but, hey, my room was way too messy on that side... ;) Also, want want want Kiwi Technics mod.
  18. Eurorack modular: Malekko Richter Oscillator II Pittsburgh Modular Filter Pittsburgh Modular ADSR Pittsburgh Modular Dual VCA MakeNoise Echophon Pittsburgh Modular Outs Encased in a home built red oak case with 4ms DIY power kit. Still some things I need for it (most notably an LFO or two), but I'm working on it ;)
  19. Space is at a premium in my house, so I've constructed a custom rig. And more JX-3P love off to the bottom left there.
  20. 2) i dunno much about what's good i have a habit of using absolutely anything 3) your guitar is now called enrico 2) What would you use to record a soft, silent sound close to you (say a squeaky coffee pot), but at the same time you dont want louder distant noises to be recorded (clocks, cars)? Are there recorders that might filter that out? Or do you have to do that with software? 3) Enrico who? i dunno i'd just use whatever shit mic i had to hand and then eq it out later :D jx-3p's are ace, did u get a controller? those things are so cute your jx-3p is now called brian your eurorack is now called galactor Unfortunately, I don't have the controller. I'm planning on installing the KiwiTechnics mod at some point (hopefully in the near future). It's a pretty rad mod, pretty much replaces the original CPU, giving things like MIDI control to all parameters, broader range LFO's (an additional LFO, too, I believe), being able to adjust the on-board chorus, stuff like that. So I could just use a knob box instead of the controller, though, as you say, the programmer is pretty cute. Details here: http://kiwitechnics.com/jx3pupgrade.htm. I'm hoping I don't mess up Brian's guts when I do that. But yeah, it was a super cheap pawn shop buy, going to be replacing its volume pot tomorrow after years of having to have it in a certain position for it to be able to play. Always loved it since I got it, though. Galactor's guts are still being put together. Do either of you have children? I'm a father myself. My sons love playing with my gear. My older one (he's 5) made a track on Audiotool.com the other night. I think he's going in the right direction with it. ;) tbh what you're doing there is gonna be way better than some cute controller, pls disregard me rob does, i don't Hey Rob, do your kid(s?) get to play with your gear from time to time or have they made any creations at all? Would you ever consider taking them on tour with you (if/when they're old enough, I suppose)? I guess the first question should be, are they interested in your work at all, or are they just like, "Oh, Da's making sounds again..." I've found that a lot of crazy sounds my kids make while exploring the world have inspired some things I was working on at the time. You ever get that?
