i would like to express my opinion on a message board:

"trance" that was happening in the 90s was good. not only it was different and much more diverse than what today's "trance", it was something really fresh, exciting and engaging in the context of that time. the 90s are over. long over. and this shit like fuckin tiesto, while marginally pleasant to make fun of, is a disgrace to humanity.

i'm not saying this is quality stuff, but here's an example of mid-90s "trance"

I disagree. Personally I believe Tiesto is probably the best trance artist of all time.

Whether he is mainstream or not is irrelevant. 90's trance is a bit too sappy for me.

Dark Trance is where it's at. No disrespect.

nope, sorry zaz (ZAZ), i think your talking fucking shit here, 95-98 was the most interesting and creative time for the trance genre. trance is what i used to spin, labels like platypus, prolekult, and eve records have all but gone now.

i would've gone and seen tiesto when i was in halifax this year if he hadn't of canceled, however. trance all sounds the fucking same nowadays. after the whole "dutch trance" resurgence died out was about the time i stopped spinning it. trance is dead, lomg live trance.

it's all about how you ask the question zaz. If you had said "do you guys like this barely heard of Norwegian guy that makes trance using only samples of chainsaws". Then results woulda been good n plenty.
