anyone seen him play recently? I'm a much bigger fan of the earlier albums but I've never seen him play so don't know what to expect. I'm considering going to the brooklyn bowl gig on 11/16 for $30

last time, to my knowledge, there was a tour just billed as "DJ Shadow" was back in '04 and it ended up being him and 2 other DJ's just playing backing for a bunch of randoms, Quannum MC's and others. was really disappointing mostly because the bill was totally off.

i'd wait to order a ticket until you see from other shows who is actually on the bill, who actually performs..

honestly don't know I guess i should check it out first as I'm kind of hoping that he plays things from endtroducing, preemptive strike etc which is maybe a pipe dream...but all in all it seems like a good bill

If it's an actual DJ Shadow show then I would say it will be fucking mindblowing

I've seen him stacks of times and it's always been brilliant; the only time I wasn't that impressed was when he did We Love Sounds Festival and the venue sucked. But I've seen him at other festivals and he caned

He always does stacks of old shit too so don't fear

Update from Brooklyn Bowl:

"Time to get pull your heads out of the record crates, people, because the mastermind himself is coming to bless us with his nastiest beats. This November 16, all of us at Brooklyn Bowl are hugely excited to welcome the one and only DJ Shadow, Live from the Shadowsphere. Don’t miss what’s going to be a real throwdown, with Shadow performing both old and new material from his station inside the giant 3D sphere (“The Shadowsphere”), imposed with stunning live visuals. In fact, we’re SO excited that we’re giving away 2 FREE TICKETS!! See below for details. Or, if you can’t wait (and we don’t blame you)… buy tickets now!"

Yeah the private press tour (which eventually was made into in tune & on time) was one of the best shows I've ever been to. Yeah I'd all but given up on Shadow after the outsider and the hard sell but the new single (def surrounds us / i've been trying) is actually pretty damn good imho.

just wanted to say that this was an incredibly good show and the shadowsphere is way cool with some very clever visuals (no spoilers) and I would highly recommend shelling out 30 bones to see him for w.e dates remain. plus he played for like 2 hours

edit: looks to be just a handful in the midwest but nevertheless he claims to return in a year with a new album for another tour so check it out then...heard one of the new tracks off this album called i gotta rock and it was wicked

Show was amazing (saw him in NYC three days ago). One of the best light shows I have ever seen with the shadowsphere. Only complaint was Pigeon John...this guy is complete garbage. I have seen better acts at a middle school talent show.
