The Analogue Now

*using "analogue" in the thread title*

Actually I like the atmosphere in these. Nice sounds & such. And the fact that they don't quite follow the over-used "add/remove element from pool of three or four elements every x bars" structure. The first one felt a bit too quick moving in places, though.

I like. But using analogness to promote something gives a bad first impression, in my opinion. I think the old stand by of music promotion is to talk about how it should make you feel, not how it was made.

i like your style... they're both really loud though

Thanks...much appreciated. Call me a victim of the loudness wars, I guess. I am glad you said that as I usually do try to make my tracks as "mastered" sounding as I can...I definitely stay away from complete brickwall Flying Lotus style though...gotta keep some dynamics.

If you're interested, I have a bunch more tracks on last.fm @ http://www.last.fm/music/Young+Funk+Chump/+albums

Haha the title is really an inside joke between me and a buddy of mine...which became the actual title. Nothing analogue was used in the making of any track I've ever made.

How should it make you feel? Well...When I made the analogue now I was listening to a lot of Dam-Funk, so he influenced me quite a bit. I wanted to make a futuristic sounding track with a solid funky backbone.

And "The Forest"...especially parts 2 & 3 make me feel like I'm running through some sort of dark jungle at night (obviously inspired by a joint or 3).

But thanks for the good words...I'll post some more tracks here in the future.
