Maybe the beats are to dry when they kick in eventually, but the crunchy retriggering sound underneath it later on masks this anyway. The beats and pads thing is a proven combo, but it feels like the track ends without ever having started for me... the track consists out of 2/3 ambience and mood and 1/3 beats which feels to short for me, maybe you can draw it out longer? Anyway, I have no clue what I'm talking about, but some cents were thrown :) Thanks alot, and I get your point about the development. I often avoid melodies and go for a completely ambient feel; in this case it was to be used in an installation and so I didn't want the music to become too prominent.
