was this made with hardware?

Yeah Laptop lol. Nah no hardware except samples and vst instruments however its all 100% original composition. I'd love to say I made it with hardware but I would have needed a lot to work together as there's a fair amount of polyphony in that tune. I am planning on getting the MSSIAH synth cart for my C64 tho and getting my old Atari ST up and running too!!

I like the happy little ditty, and the counter melodies! ^.^ The drums could do with a bit more interest, I think, but the tune itself is really nice!

Thanks! What so do you reckon I should just do some variations on the drums or change them?

Well, in my own terribly subjective opinion, because of the choice of timbres for the drums, they're quite loud and prominent, so they grab your attention. But then they don't do much with it. They're up front drums played in a repetitive style. So either put them back in the mix a bit with a softer sound, so the listener subconsciously realises she should be paying attention to the melody instead, or put in a few more variations and fills to keep them interesting.

Just to clarify, they're not bad or anything, it's just the melodies are more interesting, yet the drums sound more prominent. You should probably have the most interesting things also be the most prominent.

Yeah I agree with what you're saying. I plan on reducing the volume on the percussive chip drum sounds and doing some more variations. Also I want to try and get bit more weight in the bass as it needs more sub!
