Beer On The Rug

Beer on the Rug is a great record label. I just recently found it and wanted to share it here, because I think it deserves more cred than it has. One of the artists, Napolian, ended up on Software (Daniel Lopatin's record label). Much of the stuff is sort of chill wave like, much like Com Truise, but more experimental. Sort of mixed in with Eccojams style. Not all of it, though.

I think this one might just be slowed down looped music, but it still sounds cool:

That's pretty sweet. My favorite of the label is probably yyu even though they are (he is?) very different from the rest of them. Kind of like Grizzly Bear but more experimental.

My friend almost sold the guy from Casino Gardens his Ensoniq. I think he lives in my town.

this is what instantly turns me off, honestly—passing off glorified chopped and screwed mixes of 1980s music as anything original. can't do it

I figured some people would get annoyed with that (I do find it kind of dumb that they make you pay so much for it; the label's stuff is actually quite expensive) but there are plenty of artists that don't do that on the label.

On a personal level, I care more about how the music sounds than how hard it was to make or whatever. Now I'm not going to pay for it, but I'll listen to it on the site. I'll buy the music that isn't like that.
