Guest chunky Posted June 20, 2013 Share Posted June 20, 2013 shit, ive never been big on star trek, apart from sharing that simpson's comic guy character's appreciation of captain janeway hehe. anyway so i went to the cinema in china yesterday and asked for an english film and they showed a poster of some action guy posing with guns movie, so i paid the ticket and went in, and it turned out to be a new star trek film. why make a thread? well, it turned out to be the corniest and weirdest film ive seen in a while. it's nothing like the old star trek, it's more like Team America, with unintentionally funny characters and silly hollywood plots. but it works and it was really entertaining. in places it's like an FPS game, other times it's like 9/11 and other recent terrorist events. some of the bad guys are cardboard cut outs but they also have characteristics of modern films. in theory theres absolutely nothing special about this film, it is totally generic and stupid. BUT it's hard to explain but there was some kind of enjoyable quality to it despite the total shitness of it. so go see this film. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
