Hi all,

Recently I got a mail from a fan about track 6 from the WARP10 live show.

ive tried to identify what the girl is saying in live @ warp10 track 6.

I reversed (or re-reversed rather) this track to hear what the girl is

saying.

Let's go in my soul,

I will be glad in here.

Let's go in my soul,

....?

A few other speculations I've made

There's coal in my soul

The sword in my stone

I've attached the excerpt for you to hear aswel. this track needs some light

shed on it, I'd love to know where the sample came from :)

Hope this helps.

I think his first suggestion is like almost 100% correct but does anyone here still know where this track might originate from? I do believe there once was a thread about this track on watmm forums.. but it was a previous incarnation of the watmm forum before lots of the database was lost.

And about track 7 on this live show; who also thinks that the vocodered vocals in this track are saying: "funky singing" ? At least that's what it sounds to me...

I think all your guesses, and that person's guesses, are off the mark.

I don't have my mp3s at work, but as for track six I believe it's something like:

There's God in my soul,

I listen (ed?) to the band

There's God in my soul,

They will be back again

And for track seven, if that's the one everyone loves with the great drumming and vocorder, I believe it's a mantra, a phrase used in meditation, not unlike what they were playing around with on Devil in the Details. From what I can tell, it says something like:

We're focusing, we're focusing, we're focusing, we're focusing...

We're focusing to be grateful

We're focusing to be faithful

We're focusing, we're focusing, we're focusing, we're focusing...

etc.

Don't know if I'm right, but it certainly makes more sense that someone else's guess, which was

Marcus is, Marcus is, Marcus, Marcus is...

I remember reading that someone slowed it down or something, and it says "condescending, condescending, condescending".

edit - and now that i tried it, it doesn't really sound like it.

yeah, there was a thread on twoism about it before... if you google that you find a hymn, and it does sound a lot like that...

Just because there's a hymn like that doesn't mean those are the correct lyrics. Many hymns are very old, there's usually many variations (i.e. look up all the versions of "a tisket a tasket" sometimes, or "boys and girls come out to play" from the excellent Jacobean track on MASK 500). But I do agree that it sounds like some sort of old church hymn.
