Probably equal 5th for me with Quaristice. I really like it, there are some excellent tracks including an all-time ae contender in Surripere. But as a whole, it doesnt quite work as well as some other ae albums.

Same here. It's a good album, one of the best dozen or so albums I have bought this decade, but it's not a good (or above-average) Autechre album. Whereas Quaristice is fun, and the first half up till after Rale is riveting, less consistent after that point. Oversteps is pleasant with some lovely sounds and moods and I appreciate Autechre are going for something a little different, but the trouble is we have seen what Autechre have achieved before, and Oversteps isnt what I would call an achievement.

I was listening to Oversteps yesterday whilst walking around farm areas on a perfectly sunny day with blue skies. Fitted the mood perfectly. I still think Ilanders doesnt quite fit with the rest of the album, however the transition between r ess and ilanders is excellent. Also have a newfound liking for Yuop.

Untilted - #1 all time fave Confield - Top 5 Amber - Top 15 Draft 7:30 - round the 50 mark Quaristice - same as Draft Oversteps - top 10 of the decade so far Tri Repetae - a tad overrated, but some amazing tracks LP5 - Just havent really clicked with this one, still good though Still havent got around to a proper listen of Chiastic Slide and Incunabula, despite being into the 'chre for several years. I'm sorta saving them for the gaps between new albums. I have a feeling that I'll really like Chiastic Slide when I finally get around to it.
