  1. You are very good at this style, very pleasant, deep & organic. Good titles too; some ambient artists really cheapen their pieces by titling them with a context in mind, e.g, Music For Dreaming, etc. Keep it abstract, or go the SoTL route and make completely irreverent titles!!

did the bamboo spread into the neighbors yard? I wanted to plant some for that exact same reason, but one of the guys at my local nursery was saying that it grows and spreads like crazy. I was thinking to plant some along a fence line in a large pot, but that wouldn't provide enough privacy so I went with some other slower growing privacy shrubs.

The main consideration when you are choosing what type of bamboo to plant is whether you are purchasing a “clumping“ or “running“ species.  Most of the bamboo plants you’ll see at nurseries are of the running variety, usually in the genus Phyllostachys. Golden and Black bamboos fall under this umbrella. Running means the subterranean stems can spread far from the original plants and invade relatively distant areas. This can be controlled by burying a three foot deep hard plastic barrier on the property line to impede its spread.

With this in mind, the bamboo I purchased is a ‘clumping’ variety which is to say that its horizontal spread is much slower, occurring in concentric circles from the original growth point, therein much easier to control. If a clumper interests you species in the genus ‘Bambusa’ are the easiest to find in stores. Mine is called Graceful Weaver’s Bamboo (Bambusa textilis ‘gracilis’) and is considered one  of the most beautiful bamboos available.

Clumpers tend to be less cold hardy compared to runners. Where do you live? Do you know what kind of cold you’ll likely experience in winter?

  3. Late to this thread. I live in Sacramento, CA, Zone 9B, been an avid gardener all my life. I grow a wide variety of unusual perennials, succulents, etc. Been getting more into growing vegetables and fruit as well. We're slowly transforming our backyard in a proper garden so all the potted plants can finally go in ground (the bamboo hedge in the back was the first big project on account of privacy from neighbours). Here are a few pics of how it currently looks back there:

How this band kept a straight face I have no idea. I've watched this about 10 times straight in awe of this lad. Undoubtedly the best part for me now is his visible preparation just before the first lyrics

Yeah this performance is really ascending the ranks for me as one of the greatest of all time. They coulda stepped it down 2 or even 3 keys to his actual vocal range, but Wes went for it and I think we're all better for his gumption!

  5. I reeeeeally dislike wings or any sticky sauce-caked item where the scent lingers on my hands!! I cannot stand eating crawfish in Southern restaurants where the sauces and crustaceal essences seep into my skin through the second-degree welts on my fingertips from eating items fresh out of boiling water with my bare hands! A knife & fork offer no recourse, being altogether unfit to pry open the crimson integument...

Messy foods that get all over one's hands and face appear to be some sort of sacred cultural bastion for Americans.

Give me some fuckin dipping sauce instead of drowning the wing in this inescapable slurry of sweet & sticky bitumen!

The only bare hands meal I'll regularly fuck with is Ethiopian food with injera for dipping; it's too amazing!
