  1. Finally got around to giving this a proper listen after a handful of half assed inattentive sessions with it. Melfad is masterfully crafted with such precision and control, for that it reminds me of ae's Sublimit

  2. Is there a way to purchase the ae track independently? I just recently overpaid for Caustic Windows files, don't want to throw another 12 bucks on the run of the mill compilation, not a fan of those.

I haven't listened to it yet but from that line up it could be killer!

edit: but 30 seconds of Gas pftt c'mon

  3. Incredible, peerless work by Autechre.

At the outset I am a worker army-ant ransacking the jungle floor with my sisters; we are slaughtering katydids many times our size.

@2.40 we are pulling monolithic corpses up and over rocks, sticks. Forming bridges out of our bodies to cross chasms.

@6:30 we approach and enter the hive with our quarry in tow, which are quickly drawn and quartered in a maelstrom of evisceration. A disembodied, floating vantage-point flies through the catacombs. Every surface writhes with chaotic activity.

@12:00 we enter the Queen's chamber: her abdomen, swollen with eggs, expands and contracts. A myriad of her daughters crawl over her and quarrel for her affections. Others tend to her rear as a seemingly limitless effulent of eggs and fluid pour from her.

@15:00 we enter the the brooding chamber at the heart of the colony. The translucent larvae tumble about in their inexhaustible agony for flesh. We draw close to a glossy red pupa encircled by anxious drones.

@16:05 We pass through the outer layer of the pupa and find a new queen growing inside, stirring and ready to hatch soon.

Sounds like Confield to me, maybe with a touch more insect spawn.

  4. this rocks.

it sounds a lot like an autechre remix (odd job. Smallfish Pa.track2. etc.) and by all means, it is a good thing : )

wwwooeww I didn't know ae had remixed Phoenecia.. jesus..

I need to get my sweaty paws on this 17 minute monolith asap.

  5.

been fairly obsessed with this album lately:

FOULEST SEMEN OF A SHELTERED ELITE is such a legit album title and it's just SO good.

Did you find this through my recomandation? Told you it was awesome ;) and its just 1 dude who makes everything!

Fuarrk mate I love this!! Thanks for sharing.

Do either of you keep up with the Manchester or your local graffiti scenes? Seeing as it's how you fellas met. Do you have favourite writers and do you still paint yourselves?

Yeah locally there are some really talented writers. 3dom does alright round here.

Ask & Soker have done some good colour schemes not unlike syd meads' lusher acrylic pallettes, but i dont get out much, grafs a saturated scene in a way.

Probably old hat by now, but i remember seeing daim for the first time in switzerland on tour years ago, that changed a few things.

I'm sure Daim's moniker is a tribute to the delicious candy pellets distributed by IKEA. Great 3D work though, reminds me of the writer Peeta who I'm a big fan of.

Here's something I drew earlier this year while listening to nothing but EP7 on repeat over four - five weeks. Would you consider yourself an obsessive person? I've found if you have an obsession with your work, you're never satisfied with it. Do you feel the same with Autechre releases?

I have that guy on Flickr, he does some insane characters. Here in Australia, young writers tend to brand as much as they can under their alias while neglecting quality. Were you the same or did you try to create something worth looking at?

    Jega - Spectrum 9/10

I've been listening to this in the car. It's great driving music. I still haven't absorbed it all the way, but I get into it more with every listen. Geometry will always be my favorite.

I also really love the Phlax EP. Some amazing tracks on there, especially Bluette.

Hmm I haven't yet delved deep into the realm of Jega. I went with his first album and so listened to Spectrum, that being second release I've listened to by him, the first being Card Hore which is a great, great EP. I've read good reviews of Geometry on Discogs, the album artwork reminds me of the cover of Monolake's Momentum.

  9. As a Pacific Northwestern-er, you don't even make eye contact out here without looking like a rapist or a psycho, its really quite odd. Makes initiating a conversation with a lady pretty hard.

People in my city are extremely unfriendly compared to what I've found living in the US, particularly DC. Direct eye contact is to be avoided here; I try to make the effort to say hello and people get choked up and don't know how to respond. I think it's due to people being buried in their phones 24/7, everyone's so antisocial.

  10. South East Asia or Spain.. I fell in love with Spain when I was there earlier this year. It'd need to be somewhere warm; I experienced my first proper winter this year over in the US, I really didn't like it. But still, places like Canada or Alaska would be great for a while. Being a US citizen I'd be able to roam the latter for as long as I want.

  11. This has been.. the past two weeks.. roughly.

They're nominally remixes of Wolfgang Voigt's Studio 1 series (already bare-bones minimal to begin with) that sound like Maurizio meets Andy Stott at DJ Screw's uptown. Some wacked out crunk technos shiet, 1997 ffs.

    Soundmurderer + SK-1* - Rewind Records

Motherfucking badazz jungle here, the breakage is off the charts. Made by these dudes.

Damn, you shoulda mentioned the name of the Studio 1 remixes, your pictogram's broken.

Assuming that's the Discogs release number in the JPG, it should be this: Thomas Brinkmann ‎- Studio 1 - Variationen

    Ooh yeah cheers honey.
