I know this is sacrilege around here but irlite (get 0), to me it's one of their worst tracks ever, and its placement of #2 on the album makes it even worse because the flow of the album is messed up right from the get-go. I took it out of the playlist entirely... Exai is a perfect album otherwise.
Last time I brought this up I was stoned to death with violent gifs lol
i'm genuinely curious to know why you think it's one of their worst tracks (it's my fav on exai, and one of my alltime ae favs overall).

Brilliant set, sound-wise it's an exciting development of the Exai-AE_Live-Onesix-SignPlus continuum, but on top of that, there is another new aspect, at least to my ears - the level of detail is off the charts. It's like 8K HDR, whereas the previous stuff is 1080p at the most. To me it evoked a sort of fractal - details all the way down. Biomechanical structures, constantly morphing and shape-shifting.

has anyone found the 808 in elseq yet? I'm not hearing it anywhere.

I really love how they're always trying to dispell this myth of them making "cold, methodical" music using "extremely complex" software and 'ardware setups. This AMA is another great example of that. Listening to Sean, it's obvious that they're just two very curious and creative blokes, who use pretty basic techniques to great effect.
Really looking forward to further streams, particularly the live max-patching stream that Sean hinted at. That would be an amazing peek behind the curtains.

Rob's authorship of Gantz Graf was confirmed somehow by Sean too in mixlr chat or twitch iirc
like 'rob'll beat me if i'll say how he made gantz graf'
interesting, thanks. I still like to take these chat messages with a grain of salt though, they might just as well be trolling/having a laugh.
In the end, it's all AE anyway. It's actually quite remarkable how singular/unique their style is. With a lot of other bands, you can easily differentiate the influences of the various members, once you listen to solo releases or whatever. With AE, it's the opposite. Sean (I think it was him anyway) once mentioned how they actually both want the same end result, they just might go about doing it in a different way. It's quite fascinating, really.

source? or are you just speculating? i know spaces how v (mentioned by sean in the 2020 mixlr chat iirc) and m39 diffain (mentioned by rob in 2013 quietus interview) are rob trax, but i've never seen those other ones confirmed by either one of them.

The Beatles - Get Back (2021)
As someone who likes a lot of their music but is by no means a die-hard fan, I still thought this was an amazing watch and I'd recommend it to anyone who is interested to see how those guys came up with ideas, composed and recorded. I particularly liked how Jackson didn't try to force the archival footage into some kind of narrative corset. there's a lot of frustration and boredom in those sessions, and I appreciate the fact that they didn't leave that stuff out to make it a "tighter" viewing experience.
Ammonite (2020)
A really focused and well-crafted film. Some really subtle stuff going on here in terms of ambience, writing and acting.

I really like the title track, gives me Sasu Ripatti vibes. Darren really has a knack for these playful synth lines, like the one that features in part 2 of the title track.
