    Yes it was. Can't remember where I read it but he said that the MFM tracks were all linked to one of the Mr. Men and supposed to describe their personalities.

     

     

    I think at one point Melodies from Mars [which was leaked a couple of years ago, and formed part of a phase of melodic, “funny” Aphex tracks along with Pardinas & RDJ's Mike & Rich album] was going to be called Mr. Men, and each track was describing each character’s personality – and he kept tickling me while playing ‘Mr. Tickle’. In the end, Mr Tickle wasn’t on the leaked Melodies from Mars either – I’d not heard it since that time.

    but still, it's kinda weird that jomes "knew" when richard is going to upload his 3rd batch on sc, i thought it was more spontaneous / when he had a free time, i doubt he planned it month before, so not sure about that.

    on second thought, once richard actually did set a date for uploading more tracks so...illuminati indeed.

    hmm, i don't get it how exactly did he predicted 23/2/15? Not that i don't beleive you, i just don't see it, was it in the comment section?

     

    about jomes, i still think, for some reason, that he has to do something with rich, like friend, or in some close circles, i dunno. There were some coincidences before, i just don't remember them any more. Like several hours before rich posting something jomes uploaded a track or gave a hint about that, like captain jack said. Maybe all bullocks and illuminati ofc.

    Most of his tracks sound shit, agreed, but he is making shit on purpose, thats the idea. If you listen to some of his "old" tracks you can see that he knows the drill and can do pretty good stuff if he really wants to. All this seems like a mockery, concept like "afex aventures" but in musical terms, as i said before.

     

    I think it needs to be viewed as a joke, and not as someone trying to pass his tracks under afex moniker, it's not about that.

    i really dig ab3, super cool release. hard to pin down the style.

     

     

    yup, and noone seems to be talking about it like ever :sad: . It's of my favorite richards albums. It's not so complex but it has super atmosphere, rad tunes, melancholic & cute vibes, and cool art with bubbles, everything. The rest of ABBs dont even stand close, in my opinion. When i was younger and hitch-hiking all over the country .215061 (first track) was kinda a hymn of freedom for me. This hole dump makes me feel like on that summer road in 90s again, all by myself with afex in ears

    it's not even beta it's alpha, i can only imagine how much this shit costs. last alpha was around 30K if i remeber

     

     

    No idea of the titles or eras of any of these tracks, but the whole shebang has been on random rotation on my iPod for days and I can't get enough of it. Am purposely holding off on this week's tracks until such a time as my brain is ready. Have also revisited ICBYD, AB3 and The Tuss album, all of which I bought at the time but for some reason didnt connect with in that moment. All great.

     

    I do hope this might give a few other artists ideas, all the way up the tree. Since these dumps began I've bought two AFX things I'd either missed first time round or just fancied a bit now (SYRO on vinyl), so it evidently works as a promotional thing if nothing else. Big Beatles fan too, a few freebie bootlegs and I think I'd probably find myself buying that ridiculous mono vinyl box set.

    Thanks psn! Interesting read.

     

    - but "thousands of hours of music"? I'de beleived if it's some kind of noise / experiments / field recordings / countless variations of same track maybe, but different actual tracks? If we take bare minimum of "thousands" - 2, it would take around 3 months (no sleep/eat/nothing) just to listen to all this stuff in one sitting, and around 1000 DATs to keep it.

     

     

    and I like some Altern8 stuff :sad:. (they actually broke up same year this interview took place lol)

    there was this track, icct hedral and another tht i wrote after coming down off microdots, i was off my face walking around london and i just wanted to hear these tracks so bad and had the cassette in my pocket,the player i had just died and i just walked into a shop and bought this walkman with the last money I had, was really tweaking , they were fuckin expensive but it was sooooo worth it.. no decent food for a few weeks but sony pro walkman in the bag!

    This is the deal with Richard and what makes him awesome. Not only are his tunes the greatest but he's also a cool character with funny and amusing stories. I think that's always added to his allure, at least for me. Most electronic musicians aren't that interesting are they? He is the exception.

    anyone doesnt like any of the new soundcloud tracks?

    i like some more and some less, but there no "I totally dont like that track!" for me

    Gak bass is least favorite, not going in my tops. Others are fine/good/great/omg

    35 SAW II un road shimmer just disappeared.

    It's back. 30 Ms Short has no download tab though.

     

    This truly is the best time to be housebound and on painkillers. It's an upside I wasn't expecting.

     

    Edit: Download restored and another 35 SAW II Un Road Shimmer variant hath materiaised... Good times.

     

    it has F in it's name and it's 1 second shorter, tho :shuriken:
