I don't ever want this show to end. When the announcer introduced James I punched the air.

The whole series had renewed my faith in television. Perfection.

And when it's over, I will hate television again.

I'm going to dive into older series and films. Besides Saul and Game of Thrones im not watching anything new.

Catch up on Fargo. Was kinda meh about the third season for several episodes, but man... it rallied bigtime.

Both the film Fargo and first season of the show have a similar vibe as Twin Peaks in terms of how they portray good versus evil, sans the supernatural/paranormal stuff. Well at least with the cops and civilians.

Actually, The third season gets pretty meta. Cosmic justice, The force of good portrayed as a person, as well as the force of evil. Could also replace good v evil with capitalism v socialism to some degree I suppose. I'm not very learned, so it's hard for me to verbalize. But the theme goes pretty deep imo. As I said though, the first few episodes were pretty meh, but when the ball gets rolling it might be some of my favorite shit from the anthology. Noah touches on it throughout Fargo, but it coalesces into lovely stuff.

twin peaks the return: part 1 is now free on youtube

Nice! I haven't looked for the latest incarnation on interwebs yet & don't have Showtime. Pretty jacked after watching the first one. That sound design though! Wind through the trees then cuts to NY with the noise of traffic. Tranquil forest to urban jungle. Love it. Mystery box, Log Lady, Hawk, Jerry, Giant, Coop, evil Coop, etc... Feels are strong.

Preacher is fairly polarizing...but I dig that one for a popcorn viewing. Darkly funny at times. When you can make a suicide montage humorous, I'll roll with it.

  4. The Wailing (Goksung) 2016 - Wha?...Film got a lot of love, but for me it was a grind. Horror,comedy,dramedy,thrillerdy...too many red herrings. Tighten that shit up. The exorcism/ritual scene half way through was probably the best sequence. But, the runtime...I think you could have chopped a 1/2 hr easily...

Right Stuff is my favorite film of all time and he absolutely dominates in that movie, which is saying a lot considering how many great people are in that movie and how relatively little screen time he has compared to others. Chuch Yeager is a legendary person to have to portray and he carried it off effortlessly.

His scenes in that film were my favorite as a kid. When he walks away from that crash all deep fried. Boss.

Used to watch that movie a lot when I was a youngin'. Weird, seeing it not too long ago, I was like how the fuck would I have sat through that as a kid.

You're seriously wondering how a kid could sit through a fun and epic movie about test pilots and astronauts? :cisfor:

Yeah I must have gone through several home taped copies of that one myself. I also re-watched it sometime in the last five years or so and still liked it surprisingly well.

haha. Yea. Not really the most action packed 3+ hour movie ever I would say. But yea, astronauts, pilots and surprise titties...

  7. I guess Hollywood finally threw in the towel and thought "fuck it, let's just combine every shitty sci-fi movie into one.  No one's paying attention anyway, they're all looking down at their phones."

    Sooo Fucking good. Calendar marked.

  8. Kid Rock again. Not Trump. But things he says are not unlike my potus. Ugh, and he'll win it sadly in my state. I'm not right for this world...

Once again the press is wrong. First of all, I’ve got 15 days from my announcement to file paperwork with the FEC! Second, I’m not signed to Warner Bros!!! - which simple fact-checking would have revealed. I have recently worked out a unique deal with BMG, Broken Bow, CAA and Live Nation to release music ON MY TERMS. Like politicians write books during their campaigns, I'm planning on putting out music during mine and IT ALL STARTS TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT. It's not a hoax, it's a strategy and marketing 101! No plans for an album or anything else that has been the usual norm in the music business OR politics…..and…..

Senator Stabenow and I do share a love of music, although probably not the same kind. I concede she is better at playing politics than I am so I'll keep doing what I do best, which is being a voice for tax paying, hardworking AMERICANS and letting politicians like her know that We the People are sick and tired of their bullshit!

  9. I was pretty impressed with Castlevania. Wish there were more episodes. Especially like how it's following the story from Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. That game was awesome when I was like 8 years old.

Definitely not my youths version of Castlevania, but I enjoyed the gritty take on it nonetheless.
