I somehow can't imagine that Aphex will release some old worn out tracks for a new album. I mean, he has declined several times to actually release or re-release his old stuff simply because he might be bored too easily by it.

heh. And has turned around and said he doesn't want to release his new stuff because people would just steal the idea!

it reminds me of the structure of the long drukqs tracks. a big breakdown at the end being given a large amount of time which is somewhat different to a lot of the rest of the track early on. RDJ at his best; love those long evolving tracks of his.

    Well we'll see won't we?

  3. Er. Well the Metz track sounds like it ends at 6:30 or so doesn't it? I really doubt the African choir sounds toward the end are apart of Metz too. I've always considered the track to end at 6:30, though the recording goes for like 11 minutes. Literally sounds like a 4 minute transition to me.

I suspect major bass frequencies on Metz. I want all of them without the nulls of YouTube bootlegs. And drunk French people. That's a massive null source--increasingly so for this thread coincidentally.

    HOW DARE YOU

  5. I'm seeing random stuff on twitter about an aphex twin tease but can't find anything. Anyone care to look? I have no clue how to post twitter posts or whatever and dun care. edit: Looks like it might have just been the logo. It was the boiler room stuff I always hear about but have never checked out really.

"Watching this livestream of a HudMo show and a random Aphex Twin teaser shows up... can't tease me like this, Aphex Twin.

Weird Aphex Twin commercial —> weird Eric Wareheim video seemingly introducing Hudmo —> Ten min of kabuki(?) dancing —> dead air.

So I'm guessing most of these tracks we're composed/recorded between 2007-2011 - Anyone think any of these tracks are a year or less old?

Nah, I think he likes to wait a few years before deciding to release, which is an assumption from what he told Joyrex.. something like "I haven't listened to some of the music in years, it's good for being objective".

I also think if Metz is not on here then there will be another release somewhere close down the road.

"Aphex Twin's Syro- the master's first proper release in over a decade- has sold 3 billion copies on the week of release. In other news: there is no other news."

Lol. Does anyone here actually OWN Thriller?

  7. Oh man, the only track that lines up in any way for the Metz track is XMAS EVE. I'm going to have my fingers crossed so hard when the track switches over to it. That said I might be pleasantly surprised by something else.

Does there have to be "a lot going on" to be a good track? I don't think that's what makes a good track.

For me it needs to keep my attention and have some kind of energy to it. Then it's good because I can actively listen to it and not go 'ehhhh'

meant bout promo and media behavior

OH! Lol. Yeah that. I thought he kinda cared up until Drukqs, based off of interviews. Seemed really burnt out to have had like.. 50 releases within a decade or something right?

I got the feeling that Metz, Manchester, and Wobbly chords all were only partially finished when played out.

I only got that feeling for wobbly really. It seemed to stop kinda halfway through.

I'm willing to bet that we WILL get Metz, but Manchester and Wobbly are pretty up in the air.
