  1. #99 - 4 Red Calx (2:51)

    #109 - 4 Red Calx[slo] (5:41)

The longer one is the first one slowed down

I think rich slowed it down on the spot - they both have the same track number in front. he uploaded the first one, then uploaded the second one later, then deleted the first one. as if hes like "ah nvm i want that one slower instead". and just added "[slo]" to end.

someone here took the original red calx and uploaded it yesterday at 50% speed. then rdj uploaded the slo version today, at what I believe to have been slightly slower, almost as if it were a response to the previous act. it's a completely different song [slo] and a truly massive track.

  2. cheers to silentvision for running the image search.

  3. I broke this up by days uploaded, is this right?

    1st day: 8 Utopia - Renalgade Sonar

2nd day: 17 Kids Beach - 16 Bpjdrop Forge [pump up the jam mix]

    3rd day: 71 1st bank Trac - 37 [bicycle Wheel]

    4th day: 21 Forgotten T - 19 [slo]w early morning clissold sunrise

end of day 2 thru today is accurate. I don't recall the day 1-2 schism.

i counted 46 tracks last night for yesterdays bout alone.

  4. There was a post of all of the images used (on the tracks which had them) and their source in the pinned thread, anyone know which page that was on? I'd like to get a quote of it in here for stock reference purposes. I've got a flight out to CA this weekend that I plan on burying myself in these tracks and doodling.

    2) red calx slo is a heart rending revelation to me

    :cattears:

seriously. Its in Rhubarb territory. Its instant contemplation. I could be doing anything. that track comes on. Deep in thought. Makes me want to slow down his faster ambient tunes from other releases and see if magic happens.

I literally became immobile. I've said many times to many people #3 is my #1 track of all time hands down, but this version puts that statement in jeopardy. impossibly heavy in all of the right ways.

  6. In light of recent events, some have made some considerably cool cover images for the collective of tracks. With the pinned thread spiraling up in page count at a massive rate they're impossible to locate.

I hope that when the torrent of music stops, there will be zip that you can download that the community agrees on is the whole thing sorted, tagged, commented etc correctly, because I barely have time to listen to the stuff, much less download and organize it...

That would be nice... or a way to purchase the lot...

watmm will be the store, eh :P

just wanted to second this sentiment. at 64 tracks we're at what? 5-6 albums worth of material i would have probably paid $21.99 for each. i mean, that's a significant chunk of change for me. like, it would be irresponsible and indulgent for me to buy all that.

i'd love to hear what warp thinks of all this. this is tons of money that isn't going to them and is staying with fans. it's an AFX STIMULUS PACKAGE!

You know, just wanted to take a second and appreciate how incredibly generous this is. After such an incredible drought of music (that we know of, at any rate), it's truly mindblowing that Rich has decided to open the floodgates and give us a peek inside the vault. It's even a bigger treat to hear the various versions/stages/developments of tracks - some of these kind of feel like sketches, some of them feel more like fully fleshed tunes. It's like getting a chance to look at the private journals of Keats or something. Absolutely fascinating - not to mention it's like offering a man who has been dying of thirst for a decade an entire lake to imbibe - my belly's gonna burst!

Three fucking cheers for the man. Fucking AWESOME.

What's very interesting is he chose to release all this at the same time CCAI EP came out... I'm not sure if this is going to hurt or help sales...

I almost wished he had released it all via Bandcamp so we could pay our own price or buy it for a set fee...

Perhaps that will be the ultimate conclusion.

Using soundcloud allows him to upload them on a track-by-track basis and provides a medium for detailed comment interaction & stats. on the listener side it has us breaking F5 and eagerly waiting for the next wave, wondering what will come next and when it will inevitably end [sad thought]. The same couldn't be said if he just threw them all on bandcamp in one fell swoop and it would have required him to already do the sifting of what we believe to be 400+ files. I'm inclined to think, as suggested earlier, he's going through them and being somewhat selective with what he publishes and in what order.
