Polyend Tracker - Sonic LAB Presentation with Bogdan Raczynski
koolkeyZ865 replied to pizza's topic in EKT General Discussion
Personally, I agree. But this is a great tool for people who have difficulty interfacing with a desktop environment when producing music. There's something to be said about the immediacy and approachability of dedicated hardware, especially if you're just starting out. The limitations of something that's sole purpose is to make music in its own specific way can be very liberating in the creative process. I think it's a cool little box, I don't really see a need for it myself when Renoise exists; but I remember being pretty uncomfortable with the limitless options that a DAW provided at my disposal when I didn't really have too great of a grasp on what was going on.- 45 replies

really comfy! I love the vibe in there, super warm and cozy loving the wall decor, too. especially that keyboard sign! so cool

filled the track out quite a bit; also added a secondary section at the end. mixing needs some work and it needs polish, but overall I'm very happy with it so far! fullersketch.mp3

how did anything that I had to say have anything to do with RDJ personally, or his character? I just said that his image can market itself; he's on a different schedule and platform than most artists.

Anyone using Pro Unlimited on Soundcloud?
koolkeyZ865 replied to TheBro's topic in EKT General Discussion
I honestly really dislike Soundcloud as a platform these days. The UI is a cluttered mess, and it's difficult to find new music that I enjoy without going through artists that others are following. I think that it's failing artists, because it fails music consumers first and foremost. Depending on what tags you put on your uploads, bots will spam your uploads with likes and reposts, regardless of the quality of the track, or if you want it or not. Obviously, trendy tags get the most attention from bots, which drives the "economy" so to speak, to produce an endless swarm of shit. It's a shame, and I really hope that Soundcloud won't be the big dog on top for much longer, which is foreseeable considering how little of a profit they make. I don't know anyone outside of other artists who even pay for a Soundcloud subscription of any kind. -
you can almost see the sun peeking through the trees this track reminds me of a perfect sunrise after a really good rest i listened to this one on walks all the time a few years ago also, not really a track in its own regard but I have a lot of love for the Halo 1 loading screen drone the atmosphere is so thick and has always resonated with me greatly and been a great source of inspiration

why bother going through all that when your cult of personality prints its own money and can feed your family for several generations, pretty much guaranteeing at least slight success on the smallest of hobby projects just because the youtube comment section compared you to mozart

stuff that puts you at peace with the world, feels like a warm blanket, or gives you bursts of happy energy! anything that puts a smile on your face, I want to hear it ?

Putting shit like this on a pedestal is why people feel the need to take themselves way too fucking seriously

taken on face value it's pretty generic ambient music. if the album didn't have the 9/11 theme I don't think anyone would remember it today. It's not bad music, it's just kind of scummy music imo edit: mostly scummy marketing rather than the music itself

whipped this up pretty quickly this afternoon and I'm pretty happy with the foundation that I have so far. Will give updates on progress (hopefully) earlysketch.mp3

that's sort of what we were going for. currently just working on a small EP in a similar style that'll come out at some point sooner than later. I've gotten into a bad habit of releasing shit as soon as i'm happy with it without meditation, which is probably the best way to get buyers remorse. I've been taking quite a bit more time on this project than I usually do, and I think it's benefitting it in the long run. I really appreciate the feedback!
