  1. The Kingdom of Dreams & Madness, a documentary about Studio Ghibli as it prepares to release The Wind Rises + The Tale of Princess Kaguya

I was a little disappointed in that the film states it follows hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata as they make their films but it barely shows Takahata at all (although I've heard he apparently bashes cameras away if they start to record him). He only appears for about 1 minute towards the end, in an interview probably obtained at gun point. However, as we get to follow Miyazaki instead for nigh on two hours of perpetual grumbling and snarky comments, it's still great to watch. If you don't care for animation, you'll probably still enjoy it as it's more about the people and their history than their films. Not to mention it's quite funny at times. And there's lots of cat footage too.

Yes this is good, watched it recently. No, they don't show Miyazaki cooking for the team.

  2. I know what you mean. Mad's character really clicked with me, to a level that I was completely absorbed, emotionally, in his situation. I guess it's not really easy to relate to characters like his, especially in a movie as sparse and grim like this one. But it totally worked for me and I loved it, I was on the edge of my seat from first minute to the last. Yeah, I should probably stop recommending this movie :)

  3. Watched "Joe". I guess it's kinda allright, especially for all you nic cage fans on here. I absolutely hated the last 10 or so minutes though, serious cringe inducing cheese. This movie really could be heavy and gritty and painful. The (non)actor that played dad, that's some real shit though.

  4. People are still talking Snowpiercer as a masterpiece and I really don't get it. I really don't. I know I've talked about this before, but it still baffles me that so many people have so much love for that film. Maybe I've watched too many Korean movies and therefore expected more than what I got, but even thinking about it as a non-Korean movie it's still a terrible movie.

Just watched this. What the hell? Am I missing something?

  5. Bad Neighbours - 5/10 When will this assortment of limp dick douches accept that they need Apatow in their corner.

Escape Plan - 6/10 When will this assortment of iconic musclemen accept that with a decent script this could have been awesome. Failed opportunity.

Grand Budapest - 9/10 When will Wes Craven stop making me fall for his quirky cinematic style. AAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!

I think Grand Budapest is the shittiest movie Wes (Craven) Anderson made so far. I have no doubt the next one will be even worse.
