I've caught a glimpse of a newish BBC astro documentary series on the regular tv programme and decided to err.. acquire it in HD and watch it through. It's called "Wonders of the Solar System", presented by PROFESSOR BRIAN COX.
Well, as it turns out, I find the show absolutely unpalatable. I had zero previous knowledge about the show, or the PROFESSOR BRIAN COX and I thought it could be something like a modern-day Sagan's Cosmos. I'm not a diehard Sagan fan, but I liked Cosmos very much.
Does anyone know the show I'm talking about, or maybe some of follow-up series?
It's the first random bit I found on YouTube, but it already makes me nauseous.

Kokoon, what's your avatar from? Always wanted to know.
You mean which exact Betty Page clip? Not sure, but if you search the youtube for her I'm sure you'll find it.

I think Skyfall is the best bond movie since License to kill. And I'm not saying it's worse, it's just when I started following the franchise.

Haha I have the same thing going with dexter, we're watching it together with my wife and my brother and I keep spoiling everything for everybody all the time. It's so shit it's kinda fun. Haven't done the last season yet though, but figured out the whole killer deal like halfway into the previous one.

Also, I'm a big Tran's fan!

I have witnessed this kind of mental degradation quite a few times in the past few years. And it was horrifying for me. This movie however, showed me that when you're there, in either of the two places you can be in, it really isn't as horrifying as I have imagined and feared. Yes there are super heavy moments. But if you can see past them, there are also beautiful ones. Relatives and friends never experience what's really going on between the couple. It depressed me beyond belief because of the mental degradation. My boyfriend is going through that because his mother has Alzheimer. The helplessness of the people surrounding the victim of the disease is what scares and depresses me. The possibility of someone who you love becoming totally unaware of who you are is extremely frightening to me.

I loved this one. It didn't depress me one bit, it made me think "bring it on, I'm ready!"I went to this thinking that maybe Haneke finally found some existential peace and just wanted to make a nice film about a couple of elderly folks sharing their calm and happy third age.
It's his most disturbing and depressing film. Masterfully done but leaves you a wreck.

saw the movie (with gaarg), was deeply disappointed. i haven't read much about it beforehand, didn't watch the trailer, ... but i had very low expectations anyway (mainly because of what read in the movies thread on here)
and still i think the movie was pretty bad, the first half or so is kinda okay (some shots were truly magnificent), but it's just worse and worse from there on. the last 10 minutes or so are a disaster. what were they thinking.
also, i'm thinking - maybe the jockeys aren't the "engineers", maybe they were created by the same "engineers" race as humans were (DNAs match and all).
maybe xenomorphs are "engineers".
blah. such great potential. wasted. i could list all the things that bothered me but i don't think it's necessary.
