There is something happening in the store...

there was a slight design change in the last days and now again: there is a list of the AE_LIVE items, what wasn't there for a couple of hourse ago...

    Now it's gone again... weird,

more curious about the title: aeonesix1

i mean it could be an edited version with single tracks, who knows. but my money's on sets.

Is there a possibility to check, how AE_LIVE was registered? Could provide some answer to the debate... ?

I don't believe that it is as deep as people (like to) think.

The complexity of the music doesn't mean that it's necessarily complex to make.

They're explorers. We get to listen to some of their experiments.

Sometimes it's reversed: seemingly simple sounding music is more complex (to make) as it sounds. And somedays it sounds complex and it is. But perhaps not for the same reason.

But "deep" and "musically complex" and "complex to make" are not the same either. And often don't correlate at all.

Indeed there are some purrrfect tracks on Lucky Cat (sorry!), and their remix of Seefeel - When Face Was Face, from Warp 10+3 is one of my favourite Warp tracks of all time.

Seefeel + Isan: that marriage was made in heaven.

  6. Revisiting the discography of ISAN lately. It's like a unique amalgam of the soulfulness of BoC, the melancholy and sonic detailfulness of AE, the ambience of SAW II, and the melodic overburst of Plaid. There is even a trace of Lunatic Harness era Paradinas in earlier tracks.

But still recognizable and unique. Good stuff.

Autechre have always been trying to get back to basics and are failing with every release.

Nope, they're not failing. They are digging deep into musical ground, mining, what's under the basics. There is no return to the surface, because they are exploring the basics of the basics, and have demolished what they already exploited.

  8. Bola - D.E.G. (Skam, 2018)

Another great record from Mr. Fitton. Bola is a great new discovery for me: listened to 4 of his albums recently (Soup, Shapes, Krougnine and D.E.G. - but the missing 2 albums are already ordered too). All albums I know by him are absolutely perfect, full with amazing tracks. Something between Tri Reptae era Ae and Plaid, but still very unique and recognizable, and full of very original musical ideas. Fantastic!

need to investigate TLS’s discography, what do you guys would recommend ?

edit : just grabbed stay down and tiny reminder.

I loved The Fifth Mission. Has a minimal vibe to it. And that dubby feeling like on later Sabres of Paradise records. Mixed with a hint of trip hop and electronica.
