This is a book on my list to read. it outlines how the Western world uniquely made a switch from Collectivist society to Individualist. It probably has some relevant points.

Those interviews were very disturbing to me.
So much hate, violence and racism in their minds.
It's like they see Palestinians like ants:
A nasty problem to be trampled and exterminated.
It seems like they feel like they're above all of the other people in the region.
And they can do whatever they want with them, because of ... reasons.
How is this just not plain evil?
How can you justify all that's happened and is happening?
Whatever the justification, it's completely f*cked up.
And shaming us for speaking out against them.
Accusing us of antisemitism.
Now that's hypocrisy.
All of it feels like the darkest irony.
The victims of fascism and racism in WWII eventually becoming the Israeli people with the same hatred, violence and racism towards another somewhat-different fellow human.
It all makes me feel sick.
Disgusting.
Sorry if I offended anyone here. I just wanted to speak my mind. This way of thinking is not exclusive to Israelis or Jews. It's tribalism. Tribalism is a natural human trait that evolved so that the genetic lineage closest to us is passed on. Inter-cultural prejudice (racism, nationalism, religious bigotry, even things like sports team rivalry, etc) is just this pack mentality in play.
People of any nationality, faith, ethnicity, etc express thoughts like these all the time, all over the world.
That's why my life motto is,
"In your lifetime, meet as many people who are not like you as you can".
Pushing yourself to do so breaks down prejudices and preconceptions (edit: this includes well-meaning, but wrong assumptions) , and the more prejudices one has shattered, the more one doubts any other biases they hold.

Humans have existed for about 200,000 years, and they've had to cooperate - even if inside their own collective - all the time just to survive, to keep themselves and each other alive. Human collectives not cooperating to keep themselves and each other alive is a relatively recent phenomenon, and sadly it's fueled by us being able to confabulate things out of thin air, and others supplying the fuel for whatever reasons. The processing power we have has been hijacked by all kinds of unnecessary, needless and even harmful things like religion, superstition, conspiracy theories, and disinformation. A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it.
Interesting thought.
What we understand as our collective (I prefer the words 'pack' or 'tribe') are much larger and less intimate now. Previously, the world was far less densely populated, people travelled from home far less, and trade was much more local. The average person would have encountered and known far fewer people, and from far fewer 'packs' as we do today.
Now, collectives (tribes/packs) are much larger, anonymous, abstract ideas, based on nationality, religion or other cultural identity. Cooperation on such a scale is much less easy to define, control, or understand, and perhaps on a personal level, feel.
https://www.oliverscottcurry.com/ this guy is an anthropologist I follow in Twitter who explores morality and the reason for human kindness from a point of view of evolutionary biology. He has some interesting ideas on this topic.

Americans never realise how fucked up America is because Americans never leave (or even take an interest in anything outside of) America. You live in a bubble yet believe you have moral authority to police the rest of the world.
I know Americans. I started school in America. I dearly like some Americans.
But on the whole, y'all are fucking batshit crazy. A dangerous mix of ignorant and arrogant. With guns.

Really appreciate that, thanks. It's a stunning place.
Photography is fairly new to me and I tend to be pretty self critical.

no idea what youre talking about "socialist utopia". dont think ive ever used that term utopia in a positive light, instead it's you making things up like usual. if youre going to invent arguments with me over random posts, at least make good arguments. take it to the marxism thread anyway it has nothing to do with palestine
Drink the propaganda bro. Drink it direct from the source. Slurp slurp

random picture of a burning building with no context, not a great argument. public housing is often shit because it doesn't get funding because of financially regressive political policies. this has nothing to do with public housing as a general concept but rather specific instances of public housing existing under capitalism in general
The building is not random. Google Grenfell tower
I have total faith that your modern Socialist utopia will offer nothing but luxury in accommodation, in contrast to literally all social housing that has come before it.

Very nice. Are those stacked exposures?
Thanks man. No just single exposures. I desaturated the blue sky to create that effect. The bright blue detracted from the drama of the image, I thought
