Doula looks like the unholy union of Philip Glass and Vincent Schiavelli.

Haha, spot on. The title just popped into my head as a funny word. ”Senator” and ”doula” are like antonyms. A totally absurd combination that made me giggle a bit.
It never even occured to me that putting the words on the book cover would make that computer generated abomination BECOME Senator Doula.

Are there going to be any archived Trackermatte release in the future? Would be awesome!

I’ve been talked into doing a brand new Trackermatte release which will probably come out this year. There will also be older tracks coming to Bandcamp.

Favorite project since World Building. Gave it a full listen last night and was really happy to hear there were elements of songs that sounded unlike anything in your previous RS and Trackermatte works. Obviously it still had your fingerprints all over it and retained those signature bass lines, driving percussion, gurgling synth chords, etc. we all know you for but it felt equal parts unfamiliar if that makes any sense. Probably not. It’s fucking good is what I’m trying to say.

Thank you! Initial reports indicate it’s being well received. It probably sounds a bit different because the music packs were closer (in time) to previous releases  when they came out and by comparison this is much newer music. It’s probably the widest gap yet.

    Huge props, @theburglar

Are you catching up on your sleep now?

Thanks. It’s getting better. Me releasing this feels like a sign that I’m regaining some energy to stay up and work. I can’t really remember making most of it. It had to be done in very short bursts so it has a kind of dreamlike subconcious vibe to me. It’s a nice piece of memorabilia ?

Rolando Simmons - a revered name in certain acidic circles - joins Utter for the 'Human Remains' EP, a wildly inventive 8-track adventure that deftly dabbles in rave, IDM, Techno and beyond in classic RS style. The project is the creative brainchild of Mattias Östling, who has been on a prolific production streak since the late 2000s, firstly under the name Trackermatte before settling into work under his current moniker.

This particular release is a missing puzzle-piece of sorts, compiled and sequenced by Utter's Alex Egan from a self-released digital collection titled 'Human Touch' which initially surfaced on Bandcamp during the producer's golden 2016 'Walk On Strawberries' and 'World Building' era.

'Human Touch' was a curious selection of unmastered oddities - the first Östling made using audio signal processing environment Cecilia5 - which remained largely overlooked due to its digital limbo. The tracklist itself shifted, with bonus tracks appearing then disappearing. While the excellent Dutch label 030303 cherry-picked the original version of the title track for a 2019 2xLP of the same name, the rest of the material remained frustratingly unavailable on vinyl and elsewhere, including the elusive bonus track which prompted Egan to reach out to Östling in the first place, the stunning 'sq1_mc4_iloveu03a_149unedit'.

That track is firmly at the core of this new EP, under its new title 'Nueva Traditional', as well as the alternative CV Beszállás edit of 'Human Touch'. They are surrounded by every other un-pilfered gem that originally appeared alongside them - however briefly - with all material freshly mastered and cut by Anne Taegert at D&M. The artwork and large fold-out poster (included with the 12") were designed by the Timpani Mystique Agency.

    No stone left unturned!

Thanks a lot to you silentvision, and anyone who posts my releases in Upcoming. They help my sales in a real tangible way.

But this tracks has already been heard already

    It's on Human Touch (2019) I Don't understand..
Well I know it sounds little bit harsh but I don't understand why he sometimes puts the same tracks in different albums hmm..

Anyway it's about time to have a Trackermatte sub forum. He is way better than Clark ?

…and don’t forget there are two completely different albums called Human Touch.
In this case the simplest way to view it is Human Remains replaces Human Touch, I guess.

I don’t have much of a plan regarding where old tracks end up. I like getting old ones onto vinyl, and nowadays I like working on new ones for specific albums, thinking about and changing them for a very long time so that when the album comes out, it’s like inviting people to a nice solo art show.

  7. Thanks for posting, psn!

This is basically the vinyl version of the Human Touch EP from my bandcamp page, but with a new running order that includes previous bonus tracks, and with new graphics/design by Timpani etc.

I had to make the original EP private in order to dock with the Utter label bandcamp, which took the EP off your collection if you bought it.
I will be sending out download codes to the affected e-mail addresses. PM me if you are affected in any way.

Last night I dreamt that Music Pack 5 was released. It had this lush green blue artwork.. couldn't preview any tracks though because the bandcamp page was overgrown with vines..  @theburglar where is it now? :catrage:

I’ve had to focus on my 2 other albums for a while. When mp5 is out I’ll post it here!

Just did a digital unboxing (goddamn that’s some sexy product packaging btw) and Groovebox Grand Prix put a smile on my face. These are all mostly older tracks, as I swear I’ve heard Morning before and the vocals off of Echoes In A Little Head are definitely from the Trackermatte album Na. Also really liked the drums on Creation and the closing song as well, I take it those are the experiments he spoke of in the description. Those two definitely were a different direction I hope to hear Rolando go further down the rabbit hole with one day. Really cool that the music pack is name your price.

Thanks ? Yes many of the tracks that I’ve put together for this have been up on soundcloud at some point. There are more packs coming but I’ll just upload them as they are compiled without much fanfare, they should probably be kept in this one thread.
I thought it would be fun to do this corporate product type design to contrast the tracks which are relatively personal and warm. It’s a slow process finishing stuff being a parent. I usually dig through the archives during nap time and work on material for new albums at night.

Were you performing in the tracker? 'CPU Overload' messages in Logic have scarred me to the point where I don't trust performing in anything less stable than Ableton.

Yes it was performed in the tracker, but my modules were usually pretty kind to the CPU by the time they were finished. Everything rendered to samples and using lightweight VST effects. AND performed on some sort of beefy laptop, XPS or alienware  probably...

Don't forget this one + some other tracks on that channel

All artwork is also by Mattias himself btw

There's a lot more old stuff that isn't in this thread, the misc folder is about 1,5Gb.

So weird to see my old bisleyesque art excercises on here :)

First bit of artwork from the Åbacka live one is so accurate. It was performed outdoors under brilliant starlight in a forest and I was galaxy level fucked up. Good times!

Going to sort out some duds and errors from the mega link and then we’ll post it.
