Ná is just absolutely bonkers, maybe my favourite release of his.

That was an odd one! I was so creatively satisfied after making Ná that I haven’t had the urge to make more Trackermatte.
It’s not that I thought the tracks were so fantastic they couldn’t be topped. It was more like making them was such a meaty, delirious experience. Making World Building had the same sort of effect.

Went on a vacation this past summer that I can look back on fondly. It wasn’t difficult at all to find a song that fit the vibe of the overall experience.

p.s. Rolando shared A small clip of some new music on his IG stories. It sounded pretty gangster.

Nice video! Looks like a great time.

That wasn’t my music on instagram btw, I just shared a hiphop producer friend’s clip!

previews are squidgy af. nice art too. Sol sounds transcendent. i like the original of Earthshine plenty, this version doesn't sound terribly different in the preview...

Love the artwork Merijn Hos did for this.

I don’t usually like reusing tracks that have already been released but 030303 make such good selections. And I really like Sol.

The title track is a pretty straight forward acid version of the original that’s on my bandcamp, but I think this one is a lot better.

Hope this gets a proper digital release!

Happy to see this on youtube! (Thanks Balla)

Hope you are all doing well. I’m working from home... as I normally do, to be fair. I’m going to do what I can to get it out digitally. If all else fails, there’s two huge fat 3-years-in-the-making albums not too far ahead which won’t be limited in any way. Right now I only have a few hours of spare time after putting my son to sleep, but I’m getting there.

Yus!! Excellent news! So good to get these tracks on wax. Me+Doc is one of my all time fav Rolando Tracks! Bridgeland 303 was a stonker all round!

We (my friend and I) were cross-eyed making me+doc and were very surprised listening back that it actually sounded nice.

  6. Thanks for making a thread ?

Just noticed it’s unavailable, weird, will probably get sorted out. And yeah, i realize the title is a bit annoying, i just really felt that it was the right thing to make it a human touch album. Just put the word album when adding it to your spreadsheet ?

We’ve been talking about pressing up some of my digital tracks for a long while and this is what came of it!

  7. This one took its time growing on me but it's sticking now, probably more than anything else from 2017. Excellent work, and thanks for the nice posts in this thread, burglar!

Thanks! I’m very intrigued when people say that about this album. I have a little theory that you can somewhat control the ”metabolism” of a track/album in its composition.

Each of the tracks on world building were laid out like really long rudimentary shapes, almost like ambient pieces at first. I wanted to approach detail work differently so I did many versions of each track, went back and deleted everything that sounded awkward or derivative to me, and started again until I had tracks filled with details that are not immediately obvious, and sections of instruments completely taken away. I know I’ll rediscover things in there listening back when I’m old.

  8. Thanks :)

I’m having so much fun right now.

Next 2 EPs (out early 2019) are in a utilitarian style because we were fixing up a house in the boons this summer so I had only pocket gear with me. I’ve only recently begun work with the studio setup that’s been waiting for me since early june and there are 2 additional EP:s and 2 albums in the works. It’s intoxicating to have everything at the fingertips again!

  9. Anybody get the CD for this? Is it that lovely green like the vinyl?? But really is there an American distributor for the CD, would love to grab it as this seems like a great album for the car, but the shipping costs even more than the CD, would be nearly $30 :cattears:

Edit: meant to also send my congrats to the burglar for being a full time pro!

Hopefully there’s going to be some better options when it hits the shops later in march, but I don’t have much insight.

The CD turned out a cockhead shade of steely purple, quite nice actually!

  10. I’m getting a ton of gig offers that I’ve had to turn down because of work and there’s about 5 EPs and another full length album that I’ve agreed to doing, so I’ve actually just quit my job and acquired a bigger studio. So looking forward to dusting off all the gear currently in storage.

  11. Still love it, play it once a week or so.

I bought this and the new special request album the same time I met my soul mate and they’ll always remind me of that time. Thanks for the memories burglar. Be sure to pass this on to your bro.

Posts like these is why I release music :)

It’s the same for me. One of the main reasons why making music at home is so good is that it melts together with daily life and interactions with other people, even though the making is a solitary activity. The end result for me listening back years later is a nice kind of fever dream of faces, conversations, emotions etc.

I’m getting a nice big studio later this year but I’m a little scared what’ll happen when there’s no people around to be honest.
