oh man thanks for this heads up! Locust Lunch EP again after all these years! "Smile Without Cause" was major key for a youngster self.

Americans--who will come to Detroit to go see him at Movement? Euros get him frequently but it's not often that he's stateside. Hit me up if you want to fart on some bleachers.

Just wrapped up Succession 1. Looking forward to the second.
Watching Kendall on his desperate mission for coke bought back some real visceral memories for me. It made me recoil back in my chair just thinking about it. I also once was of such state of mind I put myself in a similar precarious situation, the only difference was it was only me that was gonna end up dead. I thought he played that incredibly well. Intensely calm on the outside and totally focused even though the truth is you’re actually desperate on the inside and utterly falling apart at the same time.
Enjoy man. Kendall's trajectory across the next 2 seasons made it really compelling for me but we're spoiled for choice on that show. The whole thing had me chomping at the bit in ways I haven't for a show in awhile. Keep checking back in!

I want in on that Blawan and Jeff Mills. The nostalgia in me wants that Goldie/Bukem b2b too. Was curious if there was any interest from the WATMM crew. Would like at least one mature raver to hang with.

I'm doing the big transfer and it seems he's having a go at Renee with this cover modification?

I instabought the deal to cover my gaps. Quite a bit of overlap in my case but it makes the releases $2.25 a piece and puts Christmas money in J-Paap's pocket. Speedy is genius honestly.
I always get fixated on reverse engineering tracks. I can remember asking somewhere how even though "DX" is in the title of dx-snth, there's no way FM synthesis could ever be that lush. I've always had PSS series Yamaha sounds in my head or Sega Genesis. Somebody answered that I'd be surprised over what could be done and the DX100 was all over Aphex's ambient works stuff. Anyway, I wish I could play that one for myself because it's like an audio analogy of the sun. I'd time the transitions to fade up across an actual night, into the sunrise and then conclude at dusk.

Was washing my hands and stumbled upon a realm somewhere between blast beats and IDM depending on how the dial was caressed

This thread needs to take a long hike in lush nature.
I think we've all been where drillkicker's at and sometimes, answers like this would get me even more enraged and sullen. The thing is: it's the right answer. I went to a redwood preserve in the Rogue River-Siskiyou national forest in south Oregon on Saturday with Skee Mask's "Pool" on the headphones. There were points where I had full body chills like an orgasm or a really good shit from just being in this place. I pulled out my GoPro at one of those times and put "LFO" on the footage to help remind me of how wicked it was. We may indeed still be tortured by a dog god but He has pockets of respite if you know where to go at least. Woof.

Yeah, this was a big nothingburger
now this isn't intended to be a dig at you because you're definitely in line with the convention of the times but why isn't everybody going with "nothinmuffin"? It has great rhyme and it's a foodstuff. Everytime I hear "nothingburger", it's like a linguistic pratfall in my head. My mom used to call me a nothinmuffin when I was being sullen or depressed. Maybe it's just not as widespread as I thought but I'm gonna start a campaign I think.

Hey what the shit--was listening to the YouTube of it at 33rpm and it's bloody tongue "clucks" as one of the percussion elements on "Weakling Child". I'll be damned.
Also, somebody should totally submit one of those locks for Drukqs testing to see what Richie was copping over the duration of '96.

Just found him and this thread. Regrettable name but lush tunes (a common modern trend). His rhythms are kind of an afterthought but his melodic sense is amazing and I love the R&B/Gospel injections that will come out of nowhere. That "b4 the computer crash" track is highly dope. It's some real IDMR&B.

This proved itself to be a classic record and few others have offered a decade of WATMM fuel. I've laughed a lot on this site but scrolling past Kennyloggins' response to "Patricia Gothic Heavy" is well within the top 5 times I've laughed the hardest.

that Succession thing.
Man...Kendel you gonna go full manic and flame it out or get this thing to altitude? His plotline is genuinely one of the most "cointoss" things I've ever seen in a show or movie and I love it.

has some serious boogie nights' vibes. is that main bird a jew? something very enduring about her
this was too goofy and silly to be good. there's a whole "story" with just stephen king acting like a goofball but it comes off as extremely cringy- and ed harris doing some kind of dance routine that has been be seen to be believed
the whole thing is basically a series of jokes that never land and scares that never work
Yes she's 1/3rd of the sister group HAIM. I have to cop to digging this track at the time--it held up pretty well.
As for Creepshow, you would have had to do it when you were 8 like me lol. I rented that movie nearly every weekend from ages 8 to 10 or so. One thing that still holds up about it is the genius of Tom Savini's practical effects. He's the garbage man with the mustache at the last bit btw. It's weird--I would say that it's a "kid's movie" but only if you're an 80s kid. We have swung the pendulum so far over in terms of content that you wouldn't dream of suggesting it for kids now. The paradox is that these kids have 2 tabs open these days: Moana in one, LiveLeak or RedTube in the other.

Films not yet watched. New PTA joint with Phillip Seymour Hoffman's son Cooper and one of the HAIM sisters. I'll be honest--I can't stop thinking about Alana. I have a Jewess* "thing" as it is and these outfits are looking great.
*I Googled it and it's not offensive. In fact, Millenial Jewish women are reclaiming it currently but it might be the same way the N word was reclaimed? I would then be ineligible to use it.

Alright for real though...where is that picture of Aphex from? It doesn't look like a shop.

I appreciate the heads up--Beyerdynamic has nearly universal acclaim in the EKT world. I like my AKGs for the most part currently. I just need some bass *somewhere* and I've decided monitors get the attention for now. I know where to go next for the cans!

This thread is big brain time and I don't mean that in a snide way. 80% of it is over my head but I can tell it's rich knowledge by some pros. It's a great reference.
I've read the entire thread and my shootout to you guys is Yamaha HS8 vs APS Klasik 2020. The HS8 pair is $749.98, APS is $1099.99. Those prices are in such a striking distance that if any of you are so convinced that the Klasik is gonna really make me feel the $350 difference, I'll do it.
I will travel for work now and will be in many random spots so elaborate treatments will not be possible. I need these fellers to meet me where I'm at. I need them to serve my production and pleasure listening needs. Bass response is a priority. Currently on Fostex PM0.4n and they are completely dead below like 1,000 Hz it seems.
Thanks all.

This was peak Nails for sure. I'm going to Primavera LA in September primarily for Tront but others will be good too (Bicep, Special Request, Tim Hecker, "I am Lorde, ya ya ya", etc.)
