  1. I'd be perfectly willing to take a blind test... but sure, I'll take a test.

So take one. Post pics online of the results. Thanks in advance for PROOF.

That study that you keep referring to simply shows that on average people cannot tell the difference.

    "The tests were conducted for

over a year using different systems and a variety of subjects. The systems included expensive

professional monitors and one high-end system with electrostatic loudspeakers and expensive

components and cables. The subjects included professional recording engineers, students in

a university recording program, and dedicated audiophiles."

Unfortunately I can't offer any similar studies as a refutation because, as far as I'm aware, that study is the only real scientific study ever conducted on the matter. I couldn't find anything else. I could dig up other forum discussions, like this one, where people did blind AB tests and could hear a difference, but that would just be treated as hearsay anyway, so what's the point.

"I could proove you wrong but what's the point" haha

  2. O yeah I totally forgot about V Snares. SHAME ON ME SHAME ON ME SHANE ON ME lol shane....

Stone in Focus will be the song played at my funeral hopefully not soon.

Hah yeah people underestimate Snares versatility no doubt.

gotta admit I actually think the one track you posted there is enjoyable. I tried some of his music but hated it.

are there more VS ambient tunes?

His only ambient album is My Downfall (Original Soundtrack).

He has a few classical/Hungarian tracks on Rossz csillag alatt született that I fancy.

I agree, some of his music is a bit too aggressive for my taste. Particularly his earlier stuff.

However I do like his recent album Detrimentalist, because it's much more structured.

    Don't forget about this beauty

  3. All digital music is created using 1s and 0s....what is the appeal of vinyl playback?

being able to hold the music you are playing, being able to witness the album art in its full twelve-by-twelve-inch size, the visceral experience of clicks and pops both separating you from and connecting you to the music, the experience of laying the needle on the vinyl, etc

edit: and scratching the record up and pretending you're a DJ

    great answer
