I like to imagine this thread as a fight circle in the parking lot outside a dive bar
"LET'S SEE YER FUCKIN NULLS MAN! LET'S SEE SOME FUCKIN NULLS!"

Absolutely. It bothers me actually, because as an artist you have some creative potential to express yourself and your style a little bit in your moniker, but those who opt out are taking the lazy way out I think.
That's like saying popular writers who don't come up with clever chapter titles are lazy writers. Also I generally interpret most musicians who go by their own name as either:
A. Trying not to draw attention away from the music itself with some sort of colourful persona, or
B. Not bothering with an alias that probably won't represent their views/sound in a few years

I usually just go da-da-da-dada-dada-etc in my head & figure out what those notes were.

When the chorus comes in things get funky as all shit

If we're going to do messy workstation, i can finally participate in this thread.

You mean you don't collect synths as a cover story for your dope growing operation?
-
I've tried tuning it in the past but it wouldn't budge. I've grown to like the dissonance it makes

i think a track that was made in the pictured studio should be linked beneath each photo.

Previews sound pretty tight. I might pick up the physical copy with all this new album internet skrilla I've been making. Are there shipping charges on it, or is it just the $15 flat?

So I finally gave this album a listen.
I was really excited to hear it after hearing Sunset Everett - it had the same pop meets IDM meets chopped up vocals vibe that I dug so much in Windowlicker (probably my favourite Aphex Twin track because I'm an UNCOOL CASUAL) without at all feeling like a knockoff. First impression on the album, I like it, but Sunset Everett feels a level above the rest because of that killer recurring riff. Of course, this could well be one of those albums where other tracks hold themes just as nice which only reveal themselves on multiple listens.
I did feel like it might have been a bit too long, though. 10/20 minutes could probably been shaved off I bet. Again, first listen impressions so iunno.

I don't know much about Moby except that WATMM doesn't seem to like anything he's done since he stopped making hardcore techno type music, but this song is pretty catchy

^The MS-10 is awesome. If I ever have the money I'm going to buy another 3 or 4 of them. Or possibly something from the Korg PS series.

After a few more listens I think I'd put this album up there with anything by BoC & most stuff by Aphex in terms of personally enjoyable ambientish technoish music
