I watched alien with my brothers when I was six pretty much everyday till I was seven, I'm looking forward to this. -
I love austra! They have a cover of Roy Orbison's Crying on their soundcloud, it's pretty cool but I prefer their synthy stuff.

Cause I could think of 6 billion better things to do with it. Fashion is about distinction - being ahead of the pack (but not so far ahead that your out completely on your own). High prices are an easy way of attaching distinction to a product. Hence, those shoes may be cool, but about 60% to 70% of the coolness is directly because of the price. (with maybe 30% to 40% of the coolness being about the design or designer or whatever). Hence the high price is a very important part of the appeal of the shoes. Lets say a more realistic price for the shoes is about $100 (even thats probably way above what they actually cost to make) That means people are willing to pay $1500-ish extra for the coolness. Trying to buy coolness is not cool. Hence those shoes are in fact, not cool. QED. Well I thought they were cool before I saw the price tag.....................................................................................................so your theory is incorrect.

plus, i suppose this means you only wear strictly functional undyed cotton sneakers and untanned leather boots? there are plenty of unfunctional shoes in this thread - look at all those nike swooshes. that's not functional. look at all those different colours. definitely not functional. I also have these i like these! i'm looking around for non tennis shoes now since i don't want to rock them anymore and i'm not into the styles of today. You should check out 'H' by Hudson, they do some really nice mens shoes

These look a bit like my riding boots (well they're the same colour). Because I'm cool I wear them normally, not just for working around horses.
