To cure a weakling child

I was looking for some aphex lyrics when I found this in depth analysis of the song and it's meaning.

Rated 0 It's loosely about child abuse. The title: "To Cure a Weakling Child" denotes a harsh attitude toward a child, from which one can infer the "cure" not being a positive thing.

The lyrics, a child's voice talking about his body parts connecting with "your feet," further hints at an abusive theme.

The percussion starts off slow, connotation of the earlier, "more precious" years in life. The further it goes on, the the more menacing the beat becomes, until the 2:10 mark, where the song completely shifts from an innocent, albeit creepy tone to a ravaging of percussions reminiscent of a life-threatening beating. After which, the child's voice is played backwards, denoting that nothing could be the same.

The song continues as before the pounding drums, but fades out, leaving the haunting voice as the last thing to flicker out, suggesting either future beatings, or the rekindling of scars from the past.

Leastaways, that's how I see it. I could just be talking out of my arse, but that's what it means to me past the scarce lyrics.

Hmm i found the same thing (shit ?) somewhere else (i can't remember where) for flim, refering to the vocal sample ("stop making that big face").

That's just, well, sad.

I think the song you're talking about is IZ UZ :innocent:

I read that anlysis before, pretty much all the theories in song meanings regarding aphex are way off.

that guy is reflecting his own issues in a song that has nothing to do with that, its pretty innocent.

I think this is what Seblastien were talking about.

"IZ-US is obviously short for "I See Your Soul" (I Z Ur Soul). James has finally found himself a victim, a small child, whose soul he will devour after an album's length of waiting. The poor kid isn't sure if James is joking or not, and laughingly pleads that he stops making his "big face" (transforming into the evil TV zombie from Come to Daddy video). Alas, even after eating the soul he has so desperately craved for the duration of the EP, James finds no satisfaction, no catharsis, and the album ends on a downbeat, mellow note with the song... Iz-Us. "

Dear god..

Not to forget, adding ''a small -molested- child'', his painful memories are coming one more time to life, that time they are fucked up in a form of remixed memory

...I Care Because You Do is ironic.

Which means he doesn't give a fuck if we care about our children.

Basically, he's saying that he wants our children to die a long, painful death which is why he messes up the track titles just like little children nightmares and he even denies them Balsam (except Alberto, nobody can get it because he called it Balsalm which Strg+F won't find).

RICHARD, YOU BLOODY RAPIST.

sex not soul

Both - when you slow it down, you can hear clearly that he says "I want you Seoul, I will eat you (in) Seoul" referring to the high amounts of underage prostitution in South Korea.

edit: Selected Ambient Works - on children

Ah it all starts to make sense now:

lyrics from come to daddy (little lord faulteroy mix):

"oh, you dirty little boy, dirty little boy", means: dad catches him watching porn

"watching the water flow past in the canal", means: (metaphor) it causes him to pee in his pants

"looking at the swans", means (metaphor): he sees his father taking a swing at him (long neck and head of a swan symbolize his fathers white arm and fist)

"and hear the birds singing", means: just like in cartoons when birds circle around ones head after getting hit over the head

that must be it!
