Guest petr Posted February 9, 2009 Share Posted February 9, 2009 i had some, its ok it tastes liek raw tuna sashimi. also had jellyfish sashimi. im going up to these hotsprings and they give you a "dancing shrimp" dish where you put live shirmps on a hot sizzlin plate and they die. a little sad but good to try. ive also heard about this live sashimi dish here where u cut pieces out of a live flopping fish. so far this is the weirdest stuff i eat here in tokyo Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Unfortunately, you have to cut a cow's throat to get a delicious sirloin but make it quick ffs. Sauteeing live shrimp to watch them "dance" i.e. do the fucking crustacean end-times freak-out, just doesn't sit well with me. Again, it's japanese food, so it's pretty bland. The live prawn is tasty, I've had that here in Korea. Also the Korean live octopus (infamous from Oldboy) is really delicious if you eat it properly. I read later that the director used 7 octopi to get that take and he "thanked the" the octopi in an award speach real flippantly to a laughing audience. The audience and the director----cunts, essentially. I can't wait for the remake of Oldboy for that scene alone. I picture Will Smith biting the head of a live chicken at a waffle house.
