Mp3 compression and cocaine

If you have ever injected cocaine intravenously, you know what im talking about. You start hearing things in a very strange way, there's like a flanger effect on everything, but mostly it feels like you're in water. The closest I can get to a description is the high frequency water-like windowing modulations in low quality mp3. And a constant flanging effect. It's really weird and im wondering about the physio-psychological side of this phenomenon. Anyone knows what im talking about and can explain this ? I guess it has to do with the numbing effect of coke on the brain, and so the result is a lower-resolution perception of sound. Also the flanging could be explained by the disbalance between one ear and the other (since you're shooting the drug in one arm). But what really makes me wonder is just how much mp3-like the effect is.

Discussion and/or answers are highly appreciated, tnx.
