how to embed HD youtube videos on WATMM?

GUYS

 

whenever you do a youtube (esp if it is not HD video), ADD THIS CODE TO THE END

 

&fmt=18

 

it ensures the file plays in stereo and (closer) to the uploaded quality.

only useful if the original has more resolution/quality. otherwise, you just end up downloading the same quality but much larger file size. i wouldn't recommend putting this on as default, as most files won't benefit, and you just end up with slower loading.

I'm under the impression (due to my experimentation w/&fmt=18) that youtube by default mixes everything down to mono at a lower quality for the non-HD viewer. So far every time I've tried it with a mono file it's resulted in stereo playback.

 

I'm sure you're right about bandwidth, and I think that's exactly why they do it that way. Up to you guys whether it's good to make standard.
