hey guys, i just wrapped up this track i penned for my girlfriend, based off of a melody i had stuck in my head for months. literally. MONTHS.

http://www.james-works.com/justfine.mp3

i was influenced by 70s/80s powerpop and thee ohsees by this one. any critique would be helpful!

(edit: worth noting that the mixing/timing has yet to be set in stone)

lyrix:

lets break some bones and have some fun

we can do whatever we want

sleeping all the time

getting by just fine

lets break some bones and have some fun

cuz we can do whatever we want

cash our checks and we win all the lotteries

burn all the money cuz fuck all the charities

plant some seeds and come back to cut down the trees

take a nap and wake up and we’re back in three

sleeping all the time

getting by just fine

lets break some bones and have some fun

cuz we can do whatever we want

(x2)

pop in a bluray and rewatch synecdoche

recursive dialogue might be the death of me

maybe i’m getting tired of the industry

so forget the plans and clear up your schedule please

sleeping all the time

getting by just fine

lets break some bones and have some fun

we can do whatever we want

(x2)

sleeping all the time

getting by just fine

get me get me out of here

do some stuff and have a beer

(x2)

i propose a new EKT custom: if you like a track, but really have nothing to say other than that, just drop a :emotawesomepm9:

It is very loud; I like the cymbals.

yeah, i heard pretty mixed things about the cymbals (they are breaking compression's balls). i ended up recording the drums on two mics—one for the kick, and one for everything else (very limited hardware unfortunately). anyway, thanks for the big ups watmms!
