Gloss vs. Matte LCD screens

 

Which do you prefer?

 

Everyone complains about seeing glare in glossy ones but in the right room with your lamps turned off and with brightness very high on the monitor, the screen looks far crisper and deeper in colour than the matte ones

 

Matte ones don't get any glare though

 

It seems like they don't even make glossy ones anymore but I like them the most. Hard to find a good glossy monitor

I prefer glossy under ideal circumstances; however, what's the likelihood you'll be in ideal circumstances?

I have never been satisfied with the output of the glossy screens on my laptops. My mac at work has a matte screen and it's beautiful. I guess it's a bit higher quality than the acer/asus screens on my laptops at home though.
