thats really cool. i hear a lot of potential with this. i love the opening. id say work on the drums a bit more. they seem a bit generic to me, and kinda outaplace compared to what the synth is doin. overall, great track! :)

I would keep it more simple if I was you - something along the lines of what you've got going around 2:40. It's just too melodic and IDM-ish to be electro - but hey, it's only a plus that you can make something melodic.

It's almost as if the drums are too human. Too many fine details for it to be fully danceable - also, why is there a cymbal on three? Just keep the drums simple and make them more punchy. Like you said, you've been adding things to this tune for quite a while, so maybe that's the problem? Isolate all the tracks that you like (that you REALLY like) and then build something new up around those tracks. That's what I would do :)

 

I would also cut away the first 18 seconds from the intro.

Lol - this is an issue from making too much dubstep and probably doesn't make sense in the techno context.
