hello all at watmm , been on here a couple of months had a butchers about not really used forums before so my online network, plays, comments etc aren't great

i've been recording for years ( well i've owned the software to do so ) but theres no real thread. it's all abit randomish. most is quite lazy in its own way and everything starts from scratch. the only commen theme is it's nearly all in the F blues scale, If folk have the time for a quick listen, feedback that would be great.

I need to make my mind up and settle on a style as such ( if just to finish 1 e.p ) i'm under no illusions theres nothing amazing about owt i do but it prevents me from embarking on a life of crime

fuck styles. why would you confine yourself so?

in all seriousness I do know what you mean and I guess confining yourself to one style/piece of gear/set of notes/ whatever does help with being inventive and creative... from what I've heard though your tunes are good man! I guess it depends what you want out of making music - are you looking for recognition or a record deal or stuff like that, or do you just like making stuff for a bit of fun? personally, for me it's the latter (though I'd certainly take a record deal if one were to be offered).

who is lindrum larry cocopipe ??? when i looked for steinvord ages ago i found the download searching bing. it was in a thread on some aphex fan site and they were all debating who lindrum larry is. some suggesting it was aphex ... it isn't obviously but i found it funny as i recognised the name after lindrum faved and commented on a number of my doodles :) he's since deleted and started a new soundcloud ...

so far i've just made things out of boredom a couple i've put genuine efffort into but most are just bollocks/lazy ... i'm not sure what i want but i want more than a few plays on soundcloud. i'm not after some record deal ha i'll never get one as i don't dj or do anything live so i'll never be known. it'd be cool to get the odd track on compilations/ freebies n things or put enough of one thing together for a EP but i'd be happy for them to be free. distribution or whatever.

need a higher standard, more consistancy ...

i downloaded it so i could try the lindrum larry method

need to buy a hosepipe now

larry's seal of approval is good enough for me

thanks fella ...

Further comments because I am feeling odd this morning... we need to move beyond the notion of finalization. Process of creation is the bread and butter. Not that human involvement or feedback isn't awesome, but that our main enjoyment from this world stems from a constant change and then realization during a creative interaction. Everything that follows (promotion, feedback, success) is irrelevant to the original purpose of creation. It's like fucking but instead of a new baby you get something that doesn't need food and water. Any specific feedback I give, while may be something beneficial to your creative goals, can and will be determined by yourself. So you only save time potentially. But an idea that stems from abstraction holds more variables because it came from the unknown. At least that is how I currently see it. I certainly don't follow this advice as well as I would like, but I think I have finally laid down a delivery foundation (style) that will allow me to forget about what happens as a consequence of creative instincts while also keeping me focused on completion. Hard work or time consuming work while lacking creative stimulation at times uncovers the possibilities that are beyond a simplistic singular. The forest for the trees.
