  1. Loving this. Just been reading about Uwe Zahn and how he's packed in the music. Did a google image search, do these look like the same person to you? http://www.city-centre-offices.de/drupal/sites/default/files/images/artists/arovane.jpg http://www.remax.de/uwe_zahn
  2. The Field - Looping State of Mind: good, preferred the muted production of Sublime but it's worth a listen and unlike anything else Ive heard Marconi Union - Beautifully Falling Apart: didn't like it, bored me to tears The Caretaker - An Empty Bliss Beyond This World: rich and lush, my new favourite, scared to drive to it in case i fall asleep though Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - Mature Themes: not bad, prefer the previous album, the poppier ones are the best Ulrich Schnauss - A Strangely Isolated Place: amazing, especially Blumenthal and Monday Paracetamol Wagon Christ - Toomorrow: some fun stuff but very hit and miss The War on Drugs - Slave Ambient: great stoner album, bit Bruce Springsteen, bit shoegazey Tame Impala - Innerspeaker: one of the best stoner rock albums ever made
  3. I've self diagnosed with De Quervain's tendonitis of the thumb - from playing Jewels Legend on my phone. I bought a splint but it's not helping, and I'm too ashamed to go the doctors to ask for the cortisone injection because the last time I visited was for rotator cuff tendonitis caused by playing tennis on the Wii.
  4. well said that man. if i'm forced to sit through one more aero advert with that cunt from sex & the city, I'll boak. thats a terrible advert, puts me right off aeros, and i have to say he looks rough as fuck in it too, with a badly cratered face.
  5. why it went away n the first place is a complete mystery - much nicer than an aero
  6. Spaghetti alla Carbonara « Roasted PeppersRecipiesStraccetti di Manzo (sauteed beef salad) » The classic Roman diet dish : bacon, eggs and cheese all heaped together with olive oil and black pepper. Carbonara is one of the great dishes of Rome and it is also quite simple and quick to make. serves 4 1 lb. Spaghetti 4 oz. diced Guanciale / Pancetta / Bacon 2 tsps olive oil 1 diced clove garlic 2 eggs 2 oz. (1 cup) grated Pecorino Romano Cheese (sharp sheep’s cheese) •Put on a pot of salted water to boil for the pasta •In a large deep pan, add a dash of olive oil and the diced bacon. •Let the bacon render over a low flame; pour off the excess fat. •Return the bacon to the flame, add the 2 teaspoons olive oil and the garlic. Let it all fry until over low heat till the garlic is soft and the bacon is crispy. •While the bacon is cooking, beat the two eggs with salt and pepper till fluid. •Let the spaghetti cook at full boil for five minuets and then take out three cups of pasta water; drain the spaghetti •Add one cup of pasta water to the pan with the bacon, turn the flame up to medium, and add the pasta to the pan with the bacon. •Let the pasta cook in the pan, adding pasta water as needed until the pasta is al dente. Don’t add too much water at a time -- you don’t want this to be soupy -- just enough water, a few drops at a time, so that the pasta absorbes it. •When the pasta is done to your taste, take off the flame and toss in the egg mixture and the Romano cheese. Toss it well so that the mixture completely coats the pasta. •Cover and let sit for 2 to 3 minuets so that the heat of the pasta cooks the egg a little. •Serve with black pepper (optional) •If you want to do a vegetarian version of carbonara, substitute the bacon with peas, carrots and onions. Just fry the vegetables together with a table spoon of olive oil, until they are soft.
  7. the post office it is -
  8. Interesting stuff - but I think a lot of the satanic stuff is there to create a musical aesthetic. To me a lot of boc's music is about paranoia, whether it's stemmed from drug use or government intrusion on your civil liberties. Thats what makes it seductive to me, its like a honey trap - you're drawn in by these beautiful melodies, then when you pay attention you're given the real message, which is meant to make you feel uneasy and maybe make you think about who the real bad guys are.
