Where is Threshold Archives based and who is running it? Is that the mystery question?

Brainwashed. Not sure when this page was published, but it's recent and I assume it is a response to Soleilmoon's decision to call off the sale.

My intention at this point was remove Brainwashed from the name and launch Threshold Archives by finishing the project Peter and I began, with the hopes of turning over control for beautiful, fully remastered stunning LPs of the "proper" releases at some point in the future.

Operating a record label is not my full-time job and I do not want it to be. I hereby state that profits will be shared with all band members involved, even those who are opposed to these CDs being released, as well as surviving family.

The quick, swift release of these items are an effort to head-off bootleg practices, which continue to run rampant worldwide.

Complete with a letter from Sleazy. Good enough for me.

The rereleases don't look to be very good in terms of artwork quality, etc., though

  2. Rumour has it that this has to do with Jon Whitney of Brainwashed, who's about as close to an official archive-keeper as there is. The 'nothing is official' is clearly a dig against tps, bootleggers, etc.

Soleilmoon is only selling this release, Threshold Archives is releasing it.

  3. i got a boner to this but then i wondered if i was a 90s kid so i consulted sit booboo sit good dog and then i went into my archives and played snes games just to make sure as well as dvds of commercials because we all know that's the kind of conceptual and aesthetic reference that makes this shit breath does it sound like he's totally referenced something like this record is such a poster of graphics and sounds and he's so chill and relaxed and he just wears a baseball cap and his dad is from russia but he got a synth from him and shared a closet with a woman and wouldn't it be so weird if you did like a library record or a new age record where you used the same fucking sounds but made them more "dark?"

I AM A REFERENCE I DARE YOU TO REFER ME TO ORIGINALITY

This one time i got a boner and then I got my dog to lick my boner while I was watching Headbanger's ball. That dog is dead now. I'm full of shame and remembering my poor dead dog. That's what this album feels like.

  4. i get it, i used to spend a lot of time at warehouse raves in my twenties, and i used to see people who were for want of a better word, scary. or alien.

like gay dudes into leather, or this one guy who used to wear angel wings all the time, this weird subculture of scumbag weirdos. ketamine heads who live in squats and have a job just cos it's paying for the next tab or gram. i guess that's where it connects into the black metal thing too. weird outsider culture. i really like the fact this seems to be what the album is about.

  5. Well, what you dosed with is extremely important in context. What variety? How fresh were they? Were they dried?

Edit: I spose it's worth noting it's really hard to kill yourself on shrooms but the variety deetermines the strength. And getting your mind fucked when you're not expecting it isn't fun.

Anyone who has experience with psilocybin mushrooms: What's a safe dosage to get a decent trip, more than a just a body high. I realize there are many different types of psilocybin mushrooms and different tolerances.

2 g, but take 2 1/2 - 3 to be certain. You're not going to trip "too hard" on less than 4g.

This is hugely subjective. Mexican, Hawaiian, European, Truffles?

    1) Yes i understand that experiences on LSD entail hallucinations.

My point was that all conscious perception is in a way hallucinatory. Hallucinations are just operating modes of neural activity, everyday perceptions are hallucinations directed by sensory input, a drug induced hallucination is just some aspect of that neural activity being altered biochemically, but it's fundamentally the same thing, from the point of view of our perception of it.

I completely get what you're aiming for here - that every sensory experience is merely an interpretation of an outer reality which can never be truly interpreted 'as is' by our inner homonculus. Plato and all that. However I think the group hallucination we experience in general is as close as anyone can get to agreeing what 'reality' is. I certainly would prefer todrive straight than I would after a nice dose of liberty caps, 2CB, or even alcohol or a few spliffs.

In some cases I think it's nicer to agree to reality being 'what the majority of people agree reality is' than anything else.

  8. not sure if you're being serious, but yeah, the bandwidth is very low (and the latency is obviously pretty high) - the way the mission was designed, it's taken a lot of photos and essentially sent back thumbnails. the scientists decide what looks interesting and these pics get sent back first in full resolution.

add to this the fact there's a number of cameras (low-res true colour, high-res B/W) and we probably won't get to see the really interesting stuff like the mass effect relay until september or so.
