I’m emboldened to have the same thoughts but I’ve not come to a conclusion yet. To me it’s the most genuinely straight up squarepusher album in some time. So many different approaches to the tracks. Almost hello everything style in that there’s a mish mash of his styles/output and production techniques; never just settles into a specific vibe or anything ala more recent albums.
It really does strike me as a Hello Everything #2 in its premise and execution.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
I don’t hear “tinny” in this or be up however I’ve had that criticism for ufababoon and damaged furries. Didn’t hear tinny in his remixes for Danny Elfman or Gogo Penguin either.

Interesting you mention this because when it was announced as a single and we first heard it I immediately told my partner that it sounded like damogen so we assumed (we’re both huge fans) this album was going to be based on his software setup (vs be up). The rest of the tracks sound mixed different and more dynamic to my ears as well (probably a correlation there ?).

edit: if you meant the recorded to 2 track bit, there was a warp rep in the listening party sharing info on each of the tracks. thanks to @silentvision they copied all the notes.
I think it's a page or two back.M8 consul added the notes to the original post/first page.
