  1. I can totally relate to you guys about the transformation of this album. How this went from a serious chore to sit through one track to one of my favorite albums of all time is beyond me, but now when people say it just sounds like random noise I feel bad because they don't know what they are missing.

  2. I like that new Headhunter, very moody and well-produced, as one would expect. The sample usage on "Prototypes" is awesome, too(*really* dig that "Too weird to live, too rare to die" sample, anyone know where that's from?).

So shit...is TRG *ever* gonna stop releasing amazing tracks?!

edit: Also saw 6Blocc last weekend. Not the best set I've seen live, selection-wise(that goes to Caspa), but by-far the best technical dubstep set I've seen yet. Dude can wreck the decks!

The sample is Johnny Depp as Hunter S. Thompson in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

  3. hahahaha, so I got to relive being a teenager in a fun way this weekend. There's a new dubstep 12"(?!) by the Bassbin Twins(??!!?!)

Simple, sounds old-school, and it's awesome

Dude, I used to loooove the Bassbin Twins back in the day, some tunes that are still seriously awesome. "A1 Love is a Superstar" omg.

  4. Some recommendations of what I'd consider "instrumental grime":

    Iron Soul(a Kromestar alias)

    Macabre Unit

    Rossi B and Luca

    Joker

    Jakes

Early Skream and Benga tracks(their EP's on the Big Apple and Southside Dubstars labels)

edit: also, GBIII, what do you think of the more tech-y dubstep stuff? Pinch, Peverelist, 2562, etc.

Underwater dancehall instrumental by Pinch was pretty decent i think, i prefer it to stuff like Benga and Burial, never heard any peverelist, but yeah the 2562 album imo is the most solid dubstep-ish LP produced to date, i not trying to be too original but its very solid and hits the right notes and beats in all the right places, production is very clean and good. thanks for the recommendations i will check those out

You should def check out Peverelist if you like 2562, two of my favorite producers at the moment.

  5. Great idea and superbly executed, definitely the best fan video I have ever seen for them. I liked the theme a lot, really fit the pounding beat of the song.

The only thing I wasn't sure about were the bright visuals that were sometimes in the background, I kind of preferred the contrast against stark black. Was that related to a particular element of the song?

Really fantastic job though, this obviously will draw comparisons to the Gantz Graf video, but it's a fitting homage and you have brought your own style to it. Nice work!

  7. Hey you lucky so-and-so's, have I got a present for you, just in time for the weekend.

Two dope mixes by a couple of my favorite producers at the moment, 2562 and Headhunter. Almost all exclusive material and a lot of the dubtep-techno hybrid stuff which is gaining momentum at the moment. Enjoy!
