  1. Yeah anyone talking shit about Katz's has never been to Katz's, a NY institution
  2. Damn, nice sample spotting! Who knew Ade was such a big Tim Noah fan
  3. Lol I have no memory of making that thread but god damn do I want a Kurt Russell sandwich now.
  4. If you like his rnb/melodic side, Flower Boy is my favorite solo album of his. Felt like he really matured on that album, both in terms of the lyrical content and his production. I gotta get more listens in but so far I like this new one a lot too.
  5. So dope, get your shit together Skam
  6. This sounds more up my alley than most of the stuff he released in the past year. But at this point, given how absurdly prolific he's been...is he ok? lol
  7. I really love the first half of Dark Gethsemane. Spooky Burial is the best Burial, that vocal sample is dope, anyone know it? Sounds like something out of an old Giallo film or something. The rest is ok, don't like the second half of the aforementioned track much and the other tracks are decent but nothing to write home about.
  8. Wow, what a pleasant surprise. Also was expecting new age cheese but this is really original and different for him. Really cool concept album, some shades of Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement, FSOL, BOC, etc.
  9. You're right, it was totally Daedelus with Samiyam also on the bill. I also had a convo with him at the merch table, seemed like a really nice guy. Shit dude, hadn't heard about Double K, that's rough to hear. PUTS was always consistently great, loved their energy.
  10. Awesome, thank you, will check those out!
  11. @BobDobalina I never hear this album brought up anymore, this was such a fun concept album. I really loved it at the time, a real throwback to the Tribe/De La Soul early 90s era. Hope you're well dude, long time! I still remember that fun night we had out like a decade ago in Brooklyn. What show was that, Samiyam?
  12. This is great, I consider myself pretty well versed in this scene but this artist is brand new to me. Really strong first impression, the best new album I've heard on Mu in a while. Anything else I should check out?
  13. Dude is my favorite non electronic producer because of just how damn eclectic his taste is. I know he's a Cabaret Voltaire fan, can't remember what track but I've heard a sample of theirs in his work before and he has mentioned being into them and Throbbing Gristle in an interview.
  14. I'm overlapping with what a lot of people have already said here, but 1997-2001 for sure. Envane and Chiastic Slide are still two of my favorite releases ever and a total departure from what had come before. Then it seemed like they kept reinventing themselves with the frenetic angular sounds of LP5 and Cichlisuite, into the weirdness of the underrated EP7 (great to se it's a favorite here, I've grown to love it more and more as I get older) and closing with the completely out there for the time Confield. Not to mention Key Nell and ISS:SA plus some of their best remixes. I love what came before and a lot of the stuff after, but that era was the right time and place to explore their discography at a young age.

    Milk DX

Damn, this is a blast from the past. Forgot I posted this...15 years ago lol I still stand by it sounding like Mike D but Milk Dee makes even more sense
  16. Loved the original, love this version as well. Cool to hear AE revisit their roots lately, I agree this sounds like something that could have come straight out of the late 80s.
  17. Thank you both for your hard work on this! It sounds incredible, it's clear a lot of work went into this and it shows, much appreciated.
  18. The Associated Press just called Biden for PA. Looks like this nightmare of a week is almost a wrap.
  19. I have a good friend who is pushing that line of thinking and it is indeed really fucking stupid. As much as I want ranked voting in the US to give third party candidates a real shot, it's simply not here right now. I'm not a Biden fan fan and he won't magically fix the myriad problems the country is facing right now, but that was the easiest fucking decision I ever made. Rabid politics are stupid on both sides but let's at least bring the appearance of sanity back to our sham of a democracy.
  20. X4 is a modern classic. The type of Ae track I live for
  21. Oh hell yeah boys, what a great surprise today! This is an excellent counterpart to Sign, still accessible but definitely jammier and weirder. And fucking lol at Sign Plus --> Sean pls
  22. I unfortunately couldn't tune in for long but loved what I was able to catch. Does anyone know if they audio was recorded? Video would be even better but I figured that's a stretch.
  23. As a huge fan of Luke's I feel like the a lot of the stuff from the past decade has been kind of phoned in. Which is why it's so great to hear a proper return to form on this album. It sounds like he had more freedom with the samples and I wonder if he was restricted on some of his past releases in regards to sampling. Plenty of great tracks on this one and it's consistently good from start to finish, looking forward to playing this a bunch more!
