  1. Trump will be high on whatever he was sniffing before those debates against Hillz. Add some Roger Stone like anger in the mix and it's going to be fireworks. But the kind of fireworks I'd rather ignore. The shitshow kind. I will not put in any effort to watch those debates. Id rather watch my own excrement being sucked into the sewer while I flush the toilet. Way more informative and satisfying.

Trump won't even show up to debate Biden. My prediction.

Wouldn't surprise me. Although I still suspect he will show up. He did so too against the Hillz. So he might have some confidence going up against whoever is the next dem candidate.

  3. ^^^ Was thinking that as well. Plenty of Warren votes moved to Biden.

Anyways, most importantly is voter turnout, imo. Which was good, I'm hearing. Happy about that.

Hopefully, the rest of the primary will be just about Sanders and Biden. The other candidates don't have the votes, it seems. Will be important to avoid the scenario with no clear winner and the superdelegates putting their finger on the scale. Not interested in being bludgeoned to death with that shitshow.

Edit: the point caze made about warren voters

Three weeks ago I made a grown man cry (well, tear up a little). He was very disappointed, but ultimately the reason why was his own doing.

I do deal mostly with nominally adult males, by the way.

    Bidens campaign manager?

A very brief summary of whats in it.

    Quote

As of 20 February, 2114 of the 55,924 laboratory confirmed cases have died (crude fatality ratio [CFR2] 3.8%) (note: at least some of whom were identified using a case definition that included pulmonary disease). The overall CFR varies by location and intensity of transmission (i.e. 5.8% in Wuhan vs. 0.7% in other areas in China). In China, the overall CFR was higher in the early stages of the outbreak (17.3% for cases with symptom onset from 1- 10 January) and has reduced over time to 0.7% for patients with symptom onset after 1 February (Figure 4). The Joint Mission noted that the standard of care has evolved over the course of the outbreak.

The CFR reduced heavily since the beginning because:

    - treatment/diagnosis improved

    - (not reported) initial underreporting of non-severe cases (which changes over time. now people with a cough start to worry)

has one office in the entire state of california. also, spent less than $1 million on ad buys in all the super tuesday states. bloomers spent almost $200 million.

it really smells like the DNC is already fixing the game. pointing it all towards a brokered convention. biden picks warren as a running mate.. centrists and progressives rally behind them.. bernie gets shafted.

bernie's only hope is if he gets a shit ton of delegates and bloomers steals enough votes from biden to make him look weak.

If the dnc was fixing the game (against sanders), i'd expect more candidates dropping out sooner than later. I still believe part of why sanders is in the lead, is because of the number of votes spread over the other candidates. Sanders ceiling might be around 30%.

now that biden looks set to win sc, maybe others drop out. I expect biden to do good at Super Tuesday as well, btw. Consider this an uninformed opinion though. I think biden just had issues to get the ball rolling. While sanders had good optics for various reasons.

And wasnt kamela harris bidens running mate? cant remember where i got this bit of info, but it makes sense.

  7. Personally, I expect to get this covid-19 thing eventually. The sooner the better, I guess. The better the condition I'm in when infected, the better I'll get through. It's going to be a different story for the sick, elderly and kids though. It's currently looking like a unescapable reality, if you ask me. Most likely it will come next fall/winter.

  8. Yes! And Dj set by Dave Clarke. Not sure about Chemical Brothers being there. I do remember a Dutch "big beat" artist being there though (Eboman), but they must have had Radiohead or RATM playing at the same time as Chemical Brothers, or something silly like that. (The classic Rage Against The Machine set was from the 1993 edition though)

Had to check the lineup  if the chem bros were there. And boy, that lineup still looks great...

Also, on topic' been checking Drift. Some good tracks here and there. A bit hit and miss, but nothing to be ashamed of, imo. Thing with "classic" Underworld is that especially the first two albums were the most memorable and distinctive. For me atleast. I can remember specific tracks. With later albums, I tend to forget what was on there. Still might have had some good tracks on them. And I might even remember those tracks, but the link with the albums isn't there, if you know what I mean.

Ironically, this might be the consequence of the ipod/mp3/napster age. From the early 2000s on, the way I listened to music changed considerably. Since then, there was hardly time to dig into an album. Especially if albums didn't stand out. The good tracks were lifted out and the bad tracks ended up on the shit pile. Never to be heard again. The good ones were shuffled into the rest of the good tracks. Listening to albums became rare. I'm sure I'm not unique in this regard. But thinking about it, I was struck how things changed in a fundamental way back then. That might have been less about artists not making good albums, and more about the way I listened to music.

  9. Couple of comments about Sanders from my side: I don't believe in the "communist Sanders" narrative. He's more moderate than the media would have you believe. To me the real question is about the so-called "pivot". Because when Sanders wins the Dem ticket, I'm fairly sure he'll change his tune in a way such that he'll appeal to more moderate and conservative voters. Especially within the Dem party itself. From the moment he's on the ticket, he will also carry the load of keeping all the house seats blue. In order to do that, he has to support the broad platform that got the Dems to win all those seats in 2018.

So my guess is, Sanders will shift gears and go for a broader platform once he's in the race against Trump. It wouldn't surprise me if the hardcore Bernie supporters will be as disappointed as the Obama supporters once were.

The real test for Sanders is whether he's able to build a real political platform with broad support. Which goes beyond the populist echo-chamber.

In this aspect I expect more from Sanders than I do from Trump. Sanders has more (political) integrity. IMO

Also, Sanders on the Dem ticket will be a difficult one, but it won't be the end of the world either.

  10. So, what do you expect will happen when Sanders wins the dem ticket?

Heard a number of people bring up arguments how dems will lose seats in the house. Arguments about gop oppo will burn his ass, as he's the easiest target of all. (You'll hear he's a communist on repeat at infinitum. And at least half the country will eat that. It's going to be the new "Hillaries emails") And that he's probably Trumps favorite candidate to run against. He can finally show he's not a communist himself.

(Please note that I'm using different versions of the term "communist". One version is the literal. And another is the proverbial version thats more common in the US. In the proverbial version, it becomes a vague term where socialist, communist, russian, authoritarian and some other stuff are mixed into something which basically means "un-american". In other words, the biggest insult an amercian can receive from another american. Or, that's what it looks like to me...)

(read: he's not a communist in the literal sense. But that wont be relevant in the general election)

So, will he be the death of the dem party? (Because losing seats in house) And the candidate that will help Trump win 4 more years? Or do you trust your fellow countrymen to cut through the BS and support him enough to get him in the White House? (While possibly still losing seats in the house?..)
