Spring for me, Hard Normal Daddy is so perfect for April when the weather is slightly improving and nature coming back to life.
Mate, I've bought a few albums around this time. So good!!

Even though I've largely lost interest in breakcore (preferring jungle and dnb quite a lot more these days), Wendorlan has me quite excited
Me too!
And yeah, I don't listen to half as much breakcore as I used to. More drum and bass, but still listen to Squarepusher.

I thought that, but then the Chime, III and Midnight/Choice 12"s are all represented in full. Just a really strange decision to me.
I know!

It's funny. My wife will sit with me all day long listening to Aphex Twin, but after a few Squarepusher tracks, she's had enough. Oh well, up to the attic/man cave!

I'm afraid I'm also in the terrible album cover camp
It doesn't bother me. But I understand why you don't like it.

7" and 12" versions of Omen - the original is a notable omission here - as well as the Wheel of Fortune and Chariot versions.
This probably because they're bringing out Limited Edition Drops of all thier pre-album 12 " singles with new artwork. More money!

he said "is the the people's court theme?" and i've never been able to not hear that when the first two tracks of hard normal daddy are playing.
I always think of the 70's/80's UK show "The Professionals"

The first Squarepusher album I ever heard was Hard Normal Daddy and it absolutely blew me away. Many, many repeated listens back in the day!

Relistened Exjag Nives yesterday. Wow, can't remember the last time I was that amazed by an electronic track.
Baltang Arg also kills, so many variations in that one.
Yeah, brilliant!!

I tried this and liked it more than forwards. it won't help, but now you know even people that claim to like it needed validation that it had a reason to claim its stupid logic

maybe. it's hard to say anything negative about squarepusher releases even when it's just my personal opinion. i absolutely love the guy's music and there's so much of it that just totally nails what i love or introduces me to something new to love about music. he still surprises and/or gets better and better. he's one of those artists who will get me into a place of being in awe or being super hyped and positive feeling.. like he stokes the fire in the stoke the center.
Absolutely spot on. It's always an exciting time when he brings something out.
