  1. Jaki Liebezeit deserve his own thread on WATMM. Come on, he was the human metronome or drum machine. We should worship him. Forever. I'm sure he had an influence on electronic music in some way. What an amazing drummer... R.I.P.

  3. has anyone noticed compared to the original The sound of the Beady eyes sounds has no low end or feels or its not been mastered well or something?

the original sounds so much better

maybe an audio head might be able to explain

To me it sounds like different EQ. The remaster seems to favour the mid-range more. But you're right, I think I prefer the old mastering. Or maybe something inbetween...

  4. I have a pair of DT770's too. Love to listen to AFX on them, especially Syro and Tuss stuff.

I never ever EQ things because I prefer to hear the music as the artist intended it but the HAB CD reissue on Warp really is annoyingly bright and unpleasantly shrill. But that's how RDJ wanted it I suppose.

Could be in this thread already but I'm not about to dig through it to confirm (I ran a search for the User URL on here but nothing). But the Account that created the Uchood trax playlist has heaps of uploaded tracks. I don't recognize any of them and they sound very Aphex

    Includes an AE remix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S65txJl60S4

  7. "Ordet", that Dreyer film from 1955. Didn't like it at first but was almost hypnotized after 45 minutes or so. Perhaps I should give "Passion of Joan of Arc" another chance but I doubt it'll top this one. Best regards, old fart.

  8. From what I hear (and see), the Soundcloud mp3 and the official release is the same mix and recording. The only difference is that the channels are swapped. And that the official release has been mastered, of course.

I reckon the Soundcloud mp3 went through an additional analogue tape step (hence the "TEAC" in the file name), whilst the official release did not?

  9. did the Cheetah3 track really sound different in the amazon sample? only listened once and on terrible headphones, but i don't remember it sounding remixed or heavily eq'd/remastered. seems like he wanted that laid back muffled sound/mix when he recorded it. i guess time will tell...

  10. i'm sure there are loads of cassettes out there. 2000 tapes don't sell out within a couple of hours. it's just impossible. bleep probably had a few of them and the rest are going to stores and online retailers. just wait and see if you missed it, i'm sure they'll turn up.

  11. ordered vinyl + cassette.

the tape is still available if you refresh the page.

fuck, just spent €35. according to my bleep order history, i spent €35 on a bruce haack reissue lp a few years ago. hopefully this "cheetah" business will be just as good or even better.

  12. the plan is probably to make people aware of and really appreciate the two previous "cheetah" soundcloud tracks.

it certainly works for me. have had them on repeat for days now. stellar stuff.

  13. i'm so old and jaded i get excited by the thought of hearing old music (ie the sc cheetah stuff) in higher resolution.

soon i probably spend ridiculous money on high-end speaker cables.
