  1. the afx soundcloud vinyl subscription club thing.

a new record delivered every month or so. no fancy sleeves, just plain covers with titles or something. i like this idea but it's probably impossible with every pressing plant working at full capacity these days. people really need their fifth copy of "led zeppelin iv" and not some lovely, previously unreleased afx magic.

  2. Source of a couple of these new pics (honestly, they remind me of Marble Madness on NES most)

speaking of sources for aphex sc pictures, have you paid http://dataasylum.coma visit? it's completely bonkers. and i've never seen so many terrible films being referred to as evidence in one place.

maybe aphex is reworking SAWII with his CCAI set up and calling it SAWIII? or perhaps the frequencies in "harmonicom" and "modal 10" are so strong and potent they'll rewire our brains completely and turn us into zombies?

  3. i have a theory (and it's mine, cough cough). here it comes:

maybe rdj found that new track whilst gathering material for the mfm project. it sounds a bit mfm-ish.

    melodies from mars release/rework confirmed/imminent?

also, sorry to herr jan about my volume knob comment. it was not only a terrible "joke" but also came across sounding hostile and vile. my apologies.

  4. Wow, thanks for this on this black monday, heartwarming track really <3

fuck yeah wut the hell is going on :catnope:?? what does [prev.] mean? preview?

    exite!!

Previously lost track. but now he discovered it again? It really sounds pretty lo-fi-ish, volume-wise it's really quiet for me?

i used the volume knob, maybe you have one too? :emotawesomepm9:

  5. ms short and backdrop trigger is back!

i think it's great that he made all tracks private and (hopefully) have started adding them again, one at a time. it's like january 2015 all over again! gives me a chance to really appreciate the tracks and re-discover tunes i missed the first time around.

also, the new artwork is an added bonus! afex soundcloud really is the gift that keeps on giving.

I never heard this before, of course there is the Rhubarb orchestra, but I never imagined anything like this, I suppose music can easily serve as a roadmap for another work. I love this approach to the creative method, using placeholders for certain things to simplify the project and later going back working on those isolated elements, but a lot of times the placeholders take on unexpected characteristics that can add a lot of interest etc.

    CCAI vols. 3-11 imminent. please?

The Circlont14 track is probably my second fav, just for one reason, the break at around 3:00 min, the voice is so soothing and when the drums come back in I just lose it every single time...

Yeah, same here. This is the track I meant when I mentioned "circlont6a", which is also fucking killer start to finish. There's an abrupt section change somewhere in the middle that always bugs me, but the track resumes its badassery so quickly that I'm quick to forget it. Love the drum programming in that one. It's crazy to think he can bring all these parts together in one take. My assumption with a track this complex is that there must be a ton of edits. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall to see how this was done.

How cool would it be if he would stream the live recording process for some tracks of his next album...

RDJ or WARP: if you see this please get it done :)

Think I might ask him on Soundcloud!

a "in the studio" video with aphex would be, like, too much for me to handle. like seeing that video of avicii working in fl studio on youtube but 34980239489389 times more interesting. or visiting kling klang in 1973. or hanging out with stockhausen at wdr in 1959. or jamming on a arp 2500 in a ufo in the outer regions of space with those aliens in "close encounters".

    but even better.

  8. not that anyone asked for my opinion, but my ideal sc release (oooh, that sounded dirty) would be a multiple vinyl set in simple white sleeves with white labels (or black sleeves with black labels) plus titles and bpm rubber stamped on the label. sort of like the marchromt ep. as long as it's a quality pressing and the music's good i don't really care about artwork (to keep costs down).

and perhaps throw in a sticker somewhere to keep a certain kind of people happy. win win!
