Anyone know what synth that is at 1:28 sounds so familiair.

I have one little gripe with a track on this album and I'm wondering if the live recording at Metz has messed with my perception of this song, but XMAS_EVET10 [120][thanaton3 mix] sounds overly compressed to me. Aesthetically it sounds in balance with the rest of the album, but I feel some of the ambience is lost in the compression. It's like the song can't 'breathe' like it's supposed to.

The only track that didn't sound 'fresh' to me was XMAS_EVET10 (Thanaton3 Mix) because I listened to the Metz recording sooooo many times. So to me the me the rest of the album feels brand new. So far it's sound very retro, but without feeling dated at all. In fact it's still allot more 'contemporary' than most music out there atm, which is an impressive achievement if you ask me.

I feel kind of conflicted. On the one hand I want it to leak NOW, on the other hand I want everyone to wait for the official release so we can all enjoy it as one happy Phex family.

As much as I hate to say this, some of SP's recent experiments have simply failed. They might be innovative in a very objective sense, and none of it is bad. I for one love Ufabulum allot, but much of his newer stuff will probably not stand the test of time. I think this is what sets RDJ apart from Tom imo. Richard's work is about as "timeless" as music comes and Syro doesn't seem to break that trend, while Tom was at his musical peak in the mid 90's to early 2000's. Allot of it sounds like just that. Music from the 90's to early 2000's.

Why must we be tortured with these reviews? I don't know what pains me more. The fact that I have to keep myself for reading them as to not taint my impression of the album prematurely, or the idea that these fuckers have already listened to all of it.
