  1. When I see an underground artist releasing his music with his real name (or something not too idiotic), I feel I gain some respect for him even if I don't like his music. Maybe it's some sense of seriousness that I respect, a feel of facing with honesty his occupation, which someone would brand as "pretentious" like some users in here.

It's exactly that seriousness that I hate. I'm with sneaksta on this, I get really turned off by musicians taking themselves too seriously.

Plus it's just less creative to leave the name associated with your work uncustomized, when given the option to customize it.

Adopting an artist name is an opportunity to exercise creative control over an essential aspect of your music's presentation. For artists who just use their own name, I tend to assume their music will be boring because they haven't taken any control over how it's presented, except to say "look at me! it's me! i made this!" (it's even worse if the album cover is a picture of them). I don't know if this is pretentious, but it is childish and egocentric.

I think it's cool to have a pseudonym because it's kind of like a hacker tag or something. Makes me feel like I'm living in a cyberpunk future.

ALSO I DON'T GO BY MY SLAVE NAME.

  2. Saw this in my spam folder today:

    Hello whats sup,

I enjoy sexual intercourse babe. I have sexual intercourse for money. And if this fascinates you , simply GO HERE. I'm called darkfantasies23 on that website. No costs to you or credit card needed in order to enter. I stopped selling on craigslist only because its not authorized and also there is normally just too many spammy posts.

    SEXUAL INTERCOURSE.

  3. I don't mind some of the liberties they're taking with the comic. It's like they're fleshing it out and making it more real. They have to take their time with it a bit more since the comic has to cram in a lot of information every month. Each story arc is only 6 issues.

They're probably trying to emulate Kirkman's writing style where things will be pretty calm for a while and then BAM, someone important dies, changing the way everyone interacts with one another.

I'm sure the acting will get better over time. Unless it's like Heroes, where it just got increasingly worse. Actually, Milo Ventimiglia got better, and Hayden Panettiere got much much worse, which brought down my entire opinion of the show.

If you haven't read the comic, don't open this spoiler:

I wonder how they're going to handle the Michonne rape scenes. I think it's an integral part of the series, even though it made me real squeamish when I first read it.
