this is clearly split in to small chucks like long ep's there no way you would listen to the whole thing in one sitting it's probably the most gescom release theyve done, hearing it now

Ae fan boys ahoy! cleary i'm just not into this album and i think it's a bit overkill. if they released this one part at a time everyone would have a different opinion.. Doawnloading wavs to burn to CD for the car, it best be a moment of holy glory when i drive home.

I think theyve already done all this stuff before with Quadrange.ep.ae nothing new, some beautiful moments by the sounds of it but its just a bit meh.. could have probably reduced all these ideas into a mind blowing double album

I love defensive Ae fans get when someone turns round and says actually some of these tracks are a bit wank... example: TBM2 6 mins beat not going anywhere? you sure theyre not trolling?

what people are missing here is how other people listen to music... when i listen to music i listen on a nice stereo on my sofa with a coffee and a spliff letting the music take over my body and mind.. I look at the artwork (which i think is just as important as the music) and let it tell a story... If i buy digital i have no artwork unless i stare at a screen, if i want to listen to the highest quality i need some ridiculous DAC attached to my stereo unless i listen on my computer...then i'm not im my fav position. I totally get that everything is going digital and i need to change my listening habits but when i can buy Kamasi Washington - The Epic on vinyl which is nearly 3 hours long for £25 which has 15 minute tracks etc....I'm like ....i don't get it..

some people just don't buy digital same with aleksi perala ......too much stuff... 4 and half hours of autechre jams is great but i bet they didn't spend half as long making this as oversteps

  14. Yea ive just got too much shit and a big mixer, not as big as as i used to have but i can't get my feng shui
  15. How often you lot change ya studio round?> I moved into a new house about 7 months ago and i just can't get my shit right!
  16. I'm still on PS3 looking for a rpg/adventure a bit like ICO/SOC, Zelda, Dark Souls, Journey.....something you guys know!
  17. with online media you now have to give away 50% of your best material to get back a substantial amount of cash unless you are supported by marketing team to promote your shit. Most people will just torrent it if they want it so it's better to give some away for free and hopefully make some cash off the rest. aphex has always talked about music should be free and i think it will be difficult for anyone to make money from music unless they are playing shows. music companies are trying to make a standard model now for HQ streaming service before the whole thing falls over and i think Richard is doing the polar opposite with this? whether it's just for personal reasons, artistic reasons or just for the hell of it, he's going against the grain. I don't think warp would be that bothered cause their aphex sales have probably shot up since he started uploading
  18. Nar BBC have now gone digital and this is analogue so they just auctioned off all their old gear. basically we got a £100k desk for about £3.5k. the 4 stereo compressors are worth £1k alone.
  19. It was actually really cheap.
  20. me and my mate bought a rehearsal/ recording studio last year, we've done up all the rehearsal bits and now we are working on the recording studio. we got the desk on bbc auctions and decided we would strip it all down and rebuilt it ourselves. It's a Calrec S Series which was originally configured for broadcast but we have reconfigured it for recording/ mixing. we didn't quite realise how many connections we would have to do, it's all Edac connections. We stripped it and put it back together quite easily with nearly all functions working with a few bits we didn't need left for a later date. We've now got all the line inputs working through patchbay from a Antelope Orion 32 but weve still got all the direct outs, inserts, groups inserts, aux sends, compressors etc.. left to do. Best sounding desk ive ever heard! The EQ's alone are worth the effort!
