Someone go to the Weirdcore exhibit with AFX soundtrack and report to the page pls

Note that the Bandcamp digital double album is the same price as the "new" disc so might as well get the double album. I do think calling the contemporaneous EP tracks rarities is a stretch, but it's my favorite Clark album so I'm looking forward to the whole thing.

Is it a remaster? That's not mentioned in the description on Bandcamp
-
I've preordered this one. His last few years have been great overall.
-
The release is out today (digitally). Upon closer inspection, I realized I already had all but one of the track variations (North).

This is out today. I'm digging it. Brings me back to The Philosophy Of Sound And Machine days.

Excellent ambient release. Reminds me of Bochum Welt meets NTS-era Autechre.

I've definitely though the same. I remember when his first "album" came out - R.O.B. - I felt so confused, like wait hasn't there already been one? and I always thought he could've been a bigger name (I suppose if he wanted that), maybe if his catalog was I dunno...more cohesive?
Even today on his own Bandcamp releases, usually it won't be the whole original release, but rather some of the tracks will be replaced by slightly updated or different versions!
-
Listening on Soundcloud, it sounds like a remaster of the original tracks? That wasn't mentioned in the write-up though.
-
Those EPs are stone cold classics, but Bochum Welt's catalog is the most baffling of any artist I know. Over the last decade, has there been a single release with all original tracks? And all of these reissues or different versions with slightly different versions of tracks and you have to carefully piece through tracklists to figure it out.

I'm 2/3rd through my first full listen. I'm digging it over all. Great use of strings.

This is dope. Imma buy this one on my next Bandcamp spree.
Tusken Acid is particularly killer

Will pre-order on Bandcamp, thanks

I guess the Bandcamp posting will come later

Realized there wasn't a thread for this new release. https://williambasinski.bandcamp.com/album/on-reflection
Excellent album, definitely classic Basinski.

Update: this is dope

Just literally listening to this right now. I had forgotten I preordered it. I guess in a Bandcamp frenzy. Sounds promising for sure on first listen.

Listening to this now. Certainly in line with their recent releases. Pretty nice.
I tend to get their releases out of . . . historical loyalty?
-
I really came around on this release. I quite enjoy it now.

This thread has been so awesome to read.
I'm turbo-fortunate enough to have been helping Michael with the MAS™ relaunch (the 15 year old 90s Funkstörung fan-boi in me is still a bit gobsmacked too, to be honest). He's been totally bowled over by the love and everyone reconnecting with the catalogue and sends his biggest danke to everyone so far.
He's digging through more old DATs as we speak for hopefully the next batch of split-label re-issues and more classics... and he just sent me previews for the next 6 (!) all-new releases, and (no spoilers, but) holy crap... this stuff is insane! That's awesome. It's been great for me to re-live too. Particularly enjoying Breakart, Unknown, and Aemic.
I remember emailing Fakesch probably in 1997-98 and he was very patient with me as a college student pestering him with questions. I remember him saying ~"wow you email reply so quickly" and I was like "yeah I have basically limitless time to email" he said "I don't." haha
