  1. I find the offshoot/USBM stuff more interesting/diverse than the first-wave Norwegian stuff.

also digging Dragged Into Sunlight. I listen to metal and non-IDM electronic music more than anything lately.

i agree. i'm down with the early stuff but BM has gotten better over time imo.

Dragged Into Sunlight are dope too. fuckin love their album artwork (think i've already said this but nvm).

  2. not sure if it still exists but i remember purevolume being decent. had boards for different genres and the music knowledge was pretty good in general. used to browse it when i was a teen and it got me into a lot of music that shaped my teenage years (mostly post-hardcore and "real" screaming/emo). was one of the first places i heard about BoC too. think there was an indie board?

just had a little look on google and it looks like they've changed the site a ton from when i used it. looks like more of a SoundCloud type thing now. couldn't find the forum.

  3. i can hardly read that cover, it's such a friggin mess lol. Hogg by samuel delaney?

im rereading post office (bukowski) to give me a breather between other books. might read On The Road after since im the only person in the world yet to read it.

  4.

    Pokken Tournament

    FUN AS FUG

Do the Pokemon Amiibo do anything in that game? I have no plans on buying it, but I did have to grab myself that Shadow Metwo card off ebay, as he's my fav.
you can use up to 5 amiibo a day to get random titles/clothing (any amiibo work - they don't have to be pokemon).
  5. finally finished Bonita Avenue. it was good, but not great. would make a nice TV series!

it was overly long. there is so much fluff that could be cut out. not sure if anybody has read it here but the porn stuff kinda went nowhere and a few characters could have have been fleshed out more considering it's pretty lengthy, even one of the main characters could have been cut out and it wouldn't have made much difference (imo obvz lol bbq whtvr)

  6. bit odd that musicians so caught up in nostalgia would make a soundtrack for a flying cars and androids mega future story lol, tho some of the tracks on tomorrow's harvest would work well in a film soundtrack.

  7. Love is pretty good, the last one I watched (#7) was the best one so far. Best thing Apatow has done in years. Main downside to it is the fact that the two main characters are so unlikable, solely from watching US TV and movies one would get the impression that America is entirely populated with narcissistic assholes, I think the blame probably lies with the writers and actors though, I'm sure the rest of you are probably fine.

yeah this was pretty good. watched most of it whilst hungover yesterday. cool cameo of Mark Everett (Eels) in an episode.
  8. naw g for serious i thought it was great. what are you expecting watching it? zoolander 1 is a funny film that parodies its subject well. zoolander 2 did the same. i can see people not liking all the throwbacks to zoolander 1 and maybe thinking it was lazy but i like that it wasn't afraid of doing that and just did what it could to make a fun/funny movie. good length too. anchorman 2 was way too long and is obviously the most comparable film.

if you watch a ben stiller comedy expecting high art then i don't know what to say.
